Another funny thing about it is that in game one that second baseman caught all the. popups he could get to regardless who’s ball it was. Then the two he is supposed to catch he lets drop.

That wasn’t an easy pop up. He should have caught it, but it wasn’t easy. It was 150 feet high in the wind.

Would’ve been even funnier if we got more runs out the inning.

I did lol but since I’ve played at higher level can see how tough it can be, but then again the second baseman should have called him off. You need those kind of plays ( blind luck) during a successful season to keep momentum and the mindset you can overcome anything.

And it is listed as an RBI double. It's stupid. It should be an error on the closest position to where the ball hits the ground. In this case, E1.

During the broadcast they said E10. I thought that was a good idea, team error.

I’ll take it. LSU scalded at least three balls that Tennessee made great plays on. Sometimes you need a little luck.

You know, I found it odd that the broadcast kept talking about that double that "shouldn't be". I don't like it either, but this has always been the rule, and suddenly it was like this was the pop up double that was just unacceptable. Meanwhile, how many rocket line drives did LSU hit for outs last night? Why no complaining about that?

I mean, if we're interested in fairness to pitchers, can we not be fair to hitters and just not charge them with an at bat when they hit a ball 110 miles an hour for an out? Because unless we're going to do that, the pop up double shouldn't be an issue.

How many Volunteers does it take to catch a pop up?
is this a trick question?

So I count 6 that missed. Some would say 7,8 or 9. But we would have to assume they wouldn’t just watch it fall also.

Yeah, I have no apology for accepting that as a hit. There was at least 1 line drive that each Tenn outfielder made a good play on, that would have been hits.
And the cannon shot off the 1st baseman too, that ricocheted straight to the 2nd baseman.
We were definitely seeing the ball well at the plate.

That and the second basemen missing the easy crews pop up as well.

While he should have caught it, it’s not as easy as you think to catch a pop up that is hit 400’ strait up, especially with the wind blowing like it was.
