This would be cool. Id even add Memphis redbirds stadium to that list. Pretty centrally located and driving distance from most SEC schools.

Hoover is awesome for the SEC tournament... minimal traffic, plenty of parking, and a brewery right next door. That's everything I need.

The SEC needs to move away from all its Bama-Centric habits and Hoover is just one . The Conference Offices should move, as well.

You also need to consider that this is huge for the city of Hoover and they will go the extra mile to make the fans happy... a big city isn't gonna give a frick.

Hoover puts police officers at the red lights leading to the stadium to manually operate the lights to keep traffic moving. It's a lot of little things that make it a more enjoyable experience.

Is this fact? Or just your speculation?

Regardless, in an age where conferences are becoming "richer" and exposure is at a greater premium, I could see why the league might want to consider other venues. Hoover is fine. It is relatively centrally located. But it's not a particularly great stadium. Nor is it an overly desirable locale. Perhaps moving the tournament to other cities/ballparks should be considered. There are some really nice ball parks within the SEC footprint.

Hoover became "tradition" at a time no one really cared about college baseball. But if you want to argue that interests is growing, then why not considered helping such by putting the conferences' marquee event in venue that isn't a bland, suburban, ballpark. One that hasn't even been used primarily for baseball for over a decade.

that's what you think they're there for, they're really looking for players and coaches to arrest trying to get to the park early!

Yes it is. I’m talking about the SEC Championship Game in football. It would just be another away game for the visiting team.

They can go to Atlanta but they can’t go to Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa?

Then maybe you shouldn't have responded to a post about the baseball tournament.

Correct. They can go to a neutral location with a years worth of planning for all of the things outside of the 3 hour game.

Hoover does a good job but the SEC should consider rotating it.

-Minute Maid
-Tropicana (or any of the citrus league venues in/around Tampa)
-Truist
-Pensacola blue wahoos stadium
-autozone park in Memphis
-Busch Stadium

All could be super cool in their own right.

Since the inception of the SECCG game in 1992, the SEC has expanded west into Missouri, Arkansas, and now Texas and Oklahoma. An SECCG in Dallas does not seem far fetched to me.

This was the worst stadium I'd ever been to in 1998, and it's still being used with no improvements to it.

It needs to stay in Hoover. If TX & OU don’t like it, tough shite. Let them GTFO.

As for Hoover being an advantage for Bama & Auburn; they both suck in baseball so that really isn’t a problem.

also a logistic nightmare driving from Tampa. Big reason why the rays are always at the bottom of attendance even though they’ve had great teams over the years.
