I’m certain Texas will also bitch about the SECCG always being held in Atlanta.

Would be odd for them to bitch about something that won't affect them

They have posters up with the changes they are making to the met. Adding extra chair backs down the sides and a section in the outfield.

They should rotate the venue to different cities. Nashville, Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, Hoover

Been saying this for years..... Put it on a rotation in however many places that makes it work best.

Texas will only be there for 1 game. They will be 1 & done in the SEC tourney. They were 2 & done this year in Big 12 tourney.

It shouldn't change, "they"are joining the
SEC. I mean aTm travels to Hoover every year, why would it change?

I watched the Texas Cincy game…. You could hear people talking. No way there were 500 people counting the teams.

Good. The SEC championship should be played in Alexandria, Opelousas, or Morgan City.

Mea culpa if Germans but the League's head coaches have always voted, unanimously, to keep the tourney in Hoover as they feel it is similar to Ohama.

Id even add Memphis redbirds stadium to that list. Pretty centrally located and driving distance from most SEC schools.

I would not want to spend 4 days in downtown Memphis these days. Knoxville is building a new stadium to bring the Smokies back into town would be a better option.

frick that.

Locations matter in college baseball.

No one says “I hope we make it to the College World Series this year!”

They say “ I hope we make it to Omaha”

No one says “Did you see Todd Peterson hit nukes in the SEC tournament?”

They say “Did you see that Peterson nuke in Hoover?”

Tradition matters and I’m tired of so called college sports fans pretending like it doesn’t.

Hoover and Omaha need to be forever.

And they should just as every SEC school should.

The original premise of this thread is valid. It's the same thing Nebraska's Tom Osborne said 30 years ago when he (correctly) predicted adding the Southwest Conference schools would be the ruination of the Big Eight.

But the SEC is a stable power in college athletics. Texas and OU needed the SEC more than the SEC needed them.

From everything I've ever heard or read, the SEC is perfectly fine with letting Hoover host the baseball tournament forever. Why bitch about a future "problem" that will never exist? (Oh, wait. This is the Rant.)

The rain issue is legitimate, though. It sometimes wreaks havoc with the SEC tournament, and of course coaches hate it.

In the New World SEC Order, Texas will never wield the power or influence it did in the Big 12. The school left a giant shiite stain on ESPN's pants with that failed Longhorn Network, and so ESPN no longer lavishes favored son status on them.

I wouldn't mind, however, if the SEC moved its headquarters to Dallas or Houston. We all know that the Bama/Birmingham in-breeding has been bad for the league.

Not Atlanta. Fani might try to arrest someone if the DEI activity does not meet her approval. But it would be good for Wade.

LSU hosting Florida in 2016 wasn't the same though, as LSU already had a game scheduled for that day. The only change necessary was who the opponent would be.

A more accurate comparison will be the first round of the new 12-team playoff. Schools will have to put together entire game events with only two weeks notice.
