Nope, little Dukie. Faulk was good, but kids today know nothing about him. Ask them if they know Walker and Bo. They all know them as absolute legends. They only know Faulk if someone at LSU tells them what he did. No 30 for 30 about him. A utility player in the NFL. A high school assistant coach. He was good at LSU, but recruits today aren't in awe.

I would have thought that he would have gotten an analyst role prior to gettting the position. I love Faulk. But this is an odd move.
He's another ex-LSU football player that needed a job, so they created a position for him. Being an ex-LSU and NFL running back doesn't meet the pre-requisite standards for the described position.

Faulk most likely knows Orgeron, (Occams's Razor) so this follows the familiar "Friends & Family" hiring plan that's currently becoming all so evident.

If you just have to hire an ex-LSU RB for "Director of Player Development", I'd rather see Jacob Hester. (I'm sure he knows O) Hire Faulk to coach RB's if Robinson goes to Cleveland..............

KF being on staff is a good thing, but neither him or O would be my choice of voice for audio books.

I don’t care if his experience in coaching thus far has only been a few years at his high school alma mater. What Kevin Faulk brings is a wealth of experience both as a all time LSU great ar running back and a three time winner at the Super Bowl playing and learning from arguably the greatest And most successful coach in the history of the game.
Hell, you have to start somewhere and what a helluva good start to have that on your resume to get his player development position and eventually become a coach for LSU. Great addition to the staff to get better results on the field and in the classroom.

I guess you weren't around when The Rant was circulating the "fact" that O was scared of Faulk and would never hire him.

Proven wrong, dream up a new narrative. - The way of the Rant.

Dont miss the point of this hire. Faulk will be the Director of Player Development...he will work behind the scenes helping young men with maturity, classwork, coaching them in off the field behavior and planning for their futures. He brings a TON of credibility and life experience to this role. Young men, regardless of their position or talent level, will be wise to listen to his guidance because he's been there and done that. This is a smart move by O. There's much more to a high class program than what happens on the field, and KF will be a huge help building character and life lessons to young guys who may have never had a good mentor.

Yea, I'm guessing you meant that once the RB gets past the line he does what he wants to do or just naturally does.....I agree for the most part but I think they have a little more influence than none

Those kids were born after he played at LSU. Faulk was great, but ain't no 30 for 30 shows done about him like Bo or Walker. He was a nice role player with the Patriots, but quit pretending he has the clout in recruiting. I'm much older, an LSU fan, and He doesn't compare to the other two.

He doesn't have to be as legendary of a player to have clout in recruiting. And the 3 Superbowl rings don't hurt.

I'm sure there are several 3-time Super Bowl winners these kids have never heard of. They were on the team? Okay.

Faulk was a huge part of New England’s first title. Brady and Belichik directly give him credit for getting their team in position to win their 1st super bowl. It was all Faulk on that drive to set up Vinateiri.

That being said, Faulk doesn’t need a 30 for 30. He’s got something Bo or Herschel don’t have. 3 super bowl rings. And a 13 year pro career. Neither of those guys even played in the super bowl.

Kevin Faulk has multiple 1000 yard+ all purpose years. Bo never had a 1000 season in his entire nfl career. Herschel was one of the biggest busts of all time.

Having been a great player (without doubt Kevin Faulk was) doesn't make one a great coach, or even a good coach. While I don't know Faulk personally, I was around him some at several USSSA base ball tourneys a few years back(his son played for Mariucci)and I walked away thinking the guy was a big douche! Don't know what type of recruiter he might be. Hopefully it works out.

All of the big time players in ‘19 are in South Louisiana except Ray Parker in Ruston who Steve E should be able to spend all of his time on.

There are some big time recruits in North Louisiana that will be blowing up very soon. Dalvin Hutchinson in West Monroe comes to mind.

Semjackass (BRAVEHEART) at it again. Who knew you’d prefer Jacob Hester. I’ve met Jacob and I’m sure he wouldn’t want you supporting anything he does. It’s like David Duke supporting the actions of Donald Trump. In most sane circles, that stamp of approval carries no weight.

Hershel Walker had over 25,000 career yards combined with the USFL. He rushed for over 8,000 yards in the NFL and retired second only to Walter Payton in career combined yards in NFL history. How the hell do those numbers make him a bust? Must be because he played most of his career in Dallas on horrible teams.
