Doug Pederson. No kidding no fooling. Won a NC as a player (UL Monroe/Northeast LA), won a SB as a player (backup to Favre at GB), won a SB as a HC (Lions), learned as Andy Reid’s OC. Solid Christian and family values so there will be no Kiffen moments with coeds or Freeze moments with “escorts” or Orgeron moments with pictures in bed with a girl half his age. Don’t be shocked.
Either Mike Anderson's North or Hooters in Newellton are good

I do but taking the kids crabbing will be a one time thing and I think staying on the bank will be safer and easier, especially when they get tired and bored!

Lake Charles Area Crabbing

Have friends coming from Wisconsin in a few weeks with 3 kids aged 6-10. They've never been crabbing and I'm thinking that might be a fun activity for the kids. Can anybody give me some ideas on where to take them in the Lake Charles area?
Les just pulled a slick one. LSU owed him $6.5 million, to be reduced by any salary he would make if he gets another HC job. He settled for a one time payment of $1.5 million. He’s about to be named HC at Kansas for $6.5 million. He snookered Alleva out of $1.5 million. Poor old dumb Les. Alleva never saw it coming

Here's good example. I have an ex-brother in law who probably couldn't find Tuscaloosa on a map but he wears an Alabama class ring. Dude went in the Army right out of high school and has never attended one college class, but he wears a class ring with a red A on the stone. It's not even funny.
1967-1972. Got into any athletic event with student i.d. Got married in '72, wife was not a student andt she got a free spouse i.d. But we paid a non-optional athletic fee of $60/semester that went to $90 in '70 or '71. Seating was first come first grab. Seems like I remember "date" tickets that we could get for non-student dates that were either free or dirt cheap. Old fart here reminiscing.
What's a hyperpole?

Awesome. Thanks
You can try spraying but I really don't think it will do any good. The adults have already migrated from the first tree and if they landed in some of your other trees they've already laid their eggs, and it's not possible to get an insecticide under the bark where the eggs and larvae are. Insecticides have never worked effectively on bark beetles. To protect a tree you would have to soak it from top to bottom to repeal the adults as they migrate to a new tree to mate and lay eggs. I'm sorry...
One poster said bark beetles start at the top of a tree. Not so. Each species of bark beetle tend to start at a different height on a tree, but a tree dies from the top down due to the lack of moisture and nutrients hits the top first. Once the top starts turning the tree is dead and doesn't know it yet

Pretty sure it's Ips. Southern pine beetle (the bad one) acts and looks similar but they make "S" shape galleries and their populations tend to explode when they get going. Ips typically will kill a tree or two and fade out. The grub is a sawyer larvae, probably ambrosia beetle. When they move in it's too late to save the tree no matter what you do. Cut the tree down, burn it if you can and move on.
Some questions:
Can you peel some bark off to see the galleries (tunnels) the beetles are making in the cambium (the first white layer under the bark)? If you can, post a pic. Different beetles make different galleries...one way to I.d. them
Are there gobs of resin on the bark that look like chewed gum?
Is there sawdust at the base of the tree?
All these are clues to identify what you've got. I'm a forester with 2 degrees and 40 years experience

Absolute best is Reconyx, but they're very pricey ($600). I've had good success with Busnells, but use Covert cell cameras on my place in Texas. Have 4 out now and it's very convenient to have pics texted from 450 miles away. Cost about $400/camera and $40/month for 4 to text or email pics.

Serious question: what's up with Giles? Has what, 2 receptions in 3 games.

Thanks for your comments. Hope you guys win out the rest of the way. I've always liked Richt but he seems to have lost intensity and focus. Hopefully he'll get his mojo back!
