I liked what I saw from Chest in the exhibition also. But I don’t really understand why we’re trading off his bench minutes and growth this year for a hypothetical 2027-2028 season from him.

LSU will have more talent next year. We are still a couple of players away from being able to compete with the upper echelon and f the SEC. We compete for 3/4 of the game but talent takes over and is the difference in the game. Sears is a perfect example. One of the best PG in the country. He is a matchup problem for us and translates inyy to o open 3’s. Plus AL has multiple good 3 point shooters. Kid from KY been hurt all year. Chest is redshirting and have 2 highly rated freshmen coming in. Should be able to make a move next year. If we don’t then I’ll start questioning McMahon hire. Not mid year 2.

Another year to accumulate more cash in order to buy better players

Chest should be playing right now and helping build this alleged promising future if he’s that good, plain and simple. Who redshirts talented freshmen in the transfer portal era? Especially a team that lacks elite talent.

Maybe he’s just injured but a redshirt seems ridiculous.

Whatever, it doesn’t matter what we do or say. McMahon is coming back, and I hope he wins. But it sucks seeing South Carolina turn it around so much quicker than LSU. SOUTH CAROLINA

Is Collins just shutting it down for the year at this point?

We have the 4th most final 4's and second most sec regular season championships in the SEC

If you removed all the names and just laid out historical resumes, lsu would be selected as a powerhouse in the SEC

Unless we upgrade the facilities, we might as well just keep McMahon. I don’t think we could attract a really good coach unless that happens.

I’ve got some news for you people, McMahon isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. And that includes next season as well.

I've got News for you. Who cares.
Watching reruns of Perry Mason is more exciting than watching LSU basketball. He always wins.

That was the problem. We had a red hot basketball program. Making the tourney every year.
Woody quenched it. Look at the other BB programs in the SEC. Most are not as competitive as LSU a couple years ago.

Why build a new arena when Woody and Mac are killing it.
Whether you blame Woody or Wade, it was a raging dumpster fire. You admit that. Then you claim that McMahon is "killing it"? Is that what steadily rebuilding the roster and increasing conference wins is called?

I know that Alt26 admitted he was emotional about Wade and will be forever biased as a result. Looks like you are in that same emotional state.

They haven't said anything, but it seems logical they would be trying for a medical redshirt at this point. Let him build strength and come back next year with 2 yrs of eligibility when Baker and Dean are gone.

In your estimation how many players do we have now, how many are we losing, and how many are we adding?

This offseason we won't need to recruit 6+ transfers in the portal. If everyone returns we should be able to hone in on 1 or 2.

When they say that it means 2 NBA All-Stars because if we don’t have that nothing is going to change other than 1 or 2 wins either way. It’s a throw away excuse created by professional excuse makers.

This is what high energy around a program looks like...

Huh?

You are losing

Wright
Hannibal
Baker
Fountain
Dean
Wilkinson

You return

Cook
Williams
Ward
Reed
Chest
Collins
Stewart

With those 7 pieces plus the incoming players, we aren’t getting better. You’ll have to get 3-4 players in the portal.

Even if they could all return, why would anyone think that would be a team that could seriously compete next season? Maybe it could sneak into the NIT if things break right.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see Reed or Ward hit the portal.
