Do I really need to explain this? We don’t have anyone close to the nba?

You’re the only one who has used the word “powerhouse”.

Once again, I have said multiple times, the expectation is to have a program that can make a post season tournament most of the time. I don’t see a program that is on that trajectory currently. If you would like to ignore the product on the floor, that’s fine.

You clearly won’t support anything LSU. We are trending upward. Last year we weren’t competitive. Like this isn’t hard to see.

Our trend is based on one of the worst teams LSU has fielded, it’s not difficult to go up from there.

I’m not trying to be hard on McMahon, but I don’t think he’ll last at LSU. I think you’ll see a very similar team to this years fielded next year.

Hey man, I love Wade more than anyone. Met him multiple times, rode for him. But it’s over.

Go back and look at preview threads I made. People shite on Wade, this board hated him. I’ve had this argument with friends. They’ve made him into a martyr. It’s mind blowing what is happening

Ok so you admit the talent isn’t great. But we are going to finish mid table SEC. I’m confused, isn’t that solid? This is a rebuild and we have no talent and finish average?

We will be better next year than this year

I doubt we will be a tourney team next year.

Do you remember when every player we had went into the portal??

So is McMahon bringing in NBA players to produce at a higher level?

You’re playing into my point. Idgaf if we have a bunch of 2 stars running motion for 40 minutes if it means making the tournament each year.

Literally no program that was the raging dumpster fire it was less than 2 years ago was built in less.

That was the problem. We had a red hot basketball program. Making the tourney every year.
Woody quenched it. Look at the other BB programs in the SEC. Most are not as competitive as LSU a couple years ago.

Why build a new arena when Woody and Mac are killing it.
Mulkey will probably retire in a couple years. Then who is going to fill it?

Unlike you, I acknowledge reality

Reality is this: our coach screwed up, our admins were/are pussies, we lost every player. Our new coach inherited a program that the media said would be banned for a decade. So he had to fight that. This is essentially his first year. And we are projecting upward

He’s going to be here and he’s going to succeed, and it really sucks for you apparently

Aren’t we losing all of the guys you listed as veterans? We only have two commits, and while both are solid the SEC loads up every season.

Are we going to pull an ole miss football and sign the top portal class? We seriously need more help than Reed, Ward, and Williams to be a contender

If they do, I will be happy. As I said before, I’m an LSU alum and root for anything LSU. Hope they prove me wrong.

Because we are at the very least marginally better this year vs last? And we don't know what the roster will look like next year? It's way too early to melt over next year.

We are aligned on the reality of the situation. I’m not disagreeing with Wade fricking up and McMahon walking into a dumpster fire.

But how do you honestly look at this team and makeup of the roster and tell me we are trending up?

Don’t forget that 9-9 sec team had a 1st round draft pick and another (Days) play in the G League. We will go 8-10 and McMahon sucks, Wade went 9-9 with an nba player and he’s a god. Its mind blowing

That team was a 6 seed, finished 21st in Kenpom and peaked at number 8. This team won’t make the NIT and 87th in Kenpom. They aren’t close to comparable

Honestly I’d feel similar to you if we signed vyctorious and a few of the top recruits we thought we were in the driver’s seat for.

The problem is that we are losing a good bit of experience this season and only have two commits. We are going to have to bag more than Louisiana transplants this portal round and about 4-5 of them

I’ve got some news for you people, McMahon isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. And that includes next season as well.

Why are we redshirting someone who is an upgrade? Does anyone stay at the same school for 5 years these days?

What few freshman are we talking about? Mike Williams is the only freshman.

That is me having a brain fart. I meant younger players. WIlliams, Ward, and Reed. I don't know what will happen but hope they will take the next step. Ward and Reed will both play significantly more time this season than last and should be seasoned vets next season. I will admit, though, I do tend to pump sunshine, maybe more than I should.

Who is hurt/redshirting that will be an impact to next years roster? Chest?

I may be mistaken on this but I have heard that Collins is hurt, and Chest is the other potential contributor. Both seem to be highly regarded in the places I frequent online, but that may be similar to loving the backup QB in football.

As always, my opinion is suspect

Technically, yes. Realistically, not even close.

Brain fart, fixed it to say younger players. Williams, Reed, Ward.

Not privy to any why's. I am just parroting what people here seem to think about Chest. Right or wrong.
