I've been a Tiger fan since the 1940s, and cannot think of a single game I'm happy we lost.

Does 2019 happen if Les wins that game? If we win, we are 6-1 and ranked in the top 10 heading into the Alabama game. Miles isn’t fired until after the season. This means O isn’t the interim coach and probably doesn’t get a fair shot at the HC job. We hire some retread HC since we can’t get Jimbo or Herman.

It took an odd confluence of events to give us the 2019 season. I’d trade a loss to Auburn for another 2019 in a heartbeat.

15 in one year sure helps! Let's just get it over with and do 3 more of those right now.

The only I would be “happy we lost” is if we had a Pedo pitching for us.

F*ck Oregon State.

I was pretty fricking mad about Wisconsin.

I don’t necessarily get happy, but I do laugh it off a lot easier and stop caring after games like Auburn.

only wish he could have made it work long enough to pass Charlie Mac. But he’s still an LSU legend.

He coached here 4 years too long. Don’t miss that clown for a second

He was elite from 05 to 07, and then in 11. The rest were 3 losses or worse.

Losing at Lambeau made my trip home slightly easier knowing he was now truly done. That smug bastard was finally done what a great trip that was.

He should’ve never made it to that season in the first place.

he shoulda been fired years before that. delayed inevitable. we knew he would never do shite again after shitting the bed on 1-9. the program was psychologically wrecked at that point especially with the milesball mentality and style.

If we didn't lose that game and Miles somehow remained head coach, there would have been no Heisman, no undefeated national championship, no magical 2019 season that was arguably the greatest in college football history. In retrospect, all LSU fans should be happy we lost that game.

There is no way of knowing that at the time, which is why saying you were, “Happy we lost” immediately following any loss clearly means you are not a true fan.

Personally, I completely lost my mind after that game. I took a long jog and ended up in a random subdivision, yelled at some Aggie fans who were watching their game on a projector, asked God Why he was punishing me and immediately fell on my face after, causing a hideous asphalt scrape that I wore to work the following Monday.

Since, I have mellowed out when it comes to LSU football and spectator sports in general.

re: Story of Les miles post auburn
I’m not sure he ever had it all between the ears. I saw him from inside the program and out. Sure he played up his persona to the media more but I watched him talk to players and other coaches and he just didn’t seem to be a great football mind. I had a few friends on his staff and some even played for him and they all kinda questioned his meetings, discussions, etc.

With talent he could do pretty well but he always found a way to screw up. He lost to Kentucky and Arkansas in 2007 when he had no reason to. In 2011 he took the best team we had seen in years and threw it away by getting more and more conservative each week after October.

He was a good guy and people liked him. But he wasn’t right for LSU. He didn’t know how to take his success in 2007 that fell in his lap and sustain it.

IMO Les Miles will always have a special place in the hearts of TigerNation fans. I hated to see him go. But I agree with those who say, he just could not change. His offensive scheme was just so predictable, it was heartbreaking.

Les just could not adapt. Having said that I hope one day he can come back and receive a warm welcome from Tiger fans in Tiger Stadium.

I continue to pull for his success at Kansas.

No, it means he isn't a short-sighted imbecile that falls on his face because his football team lost it's SECOND game of the season by the end of SEPTEMBER! Les had proven over 12 seasons that he was always going to lose at least one game a year.
91% of the time he would lose 2 or more games.
54% of the time he would lose 3 or more games.
27% of the time he would lose 4 or more games.
I was so happy LSU lost to Auburn in 2016 because I knew that no matter what, the Les Miles tenure of great to mediocre to great to below average and trending down was over!

Agreed.

I fall in the "it was time" group.

Some people will shite on him not stop, but he had a good run. It just got too hard to play bully ball when Alabama got rolling.

Before that I honestly could not figure out if he was an idiot or a savant, I think I knew he was an idiot but that game sealed it.
