Les’ time was definitely up, but there’s no denying he loved being the head coach of the Tigers.

I only wish he could have made it work long enough to pass Charlie Mac. But he’s still an LSU legend.

Hopefully Orgeron keeps it going long enough to pass them all.

I was happy we lost that game because I knew that was the final nail in the coffin for Miles. He should’ve never made it to that season in the first place. But hey, everything happens for a reason and I’m completely ok with those couple of shitshow years because it led to having the best team and season of all time and a national championship last season.

Watching that happen, loving and admiring Les, and knowing it was past time that happened, was hard for everyone. It was time and I was sad. I’m looking forward to the great night in Tiger Stadium when we retire his hat, and officially welcome him home.

But the game had clearly passed him by

Really think this was his biggest downfall. For some coaches it happens sooner than others.

Miles was great for the program, I’m not arguing that and I don’t think anyone will for that matter. But his time had clearly passed.

I once listened to an AD that said after ten years its time to move on from a coach . The reason the administration is tired looking at him and listening to him beg and complain for athletic support simply put money.

Les is a fantastic person. Coach, not so much. I would love to have him around someday as an assistant AD or Director of Personnel.

I hope Les has great success at Kansas ( which would be 5 break even seasons and a few bowl games.

It would be an incredible night if we could somehow get them on the schedule. Imagine Les running out of the visiting tunnel 9 and not getting run over, LOL) to what might be a Tiger Nation salute.

Some of us see past a single game. I was VERY happy we lost that game, simply because I suspected the same. Without that...possibly no Joe Burrow, no Heisman, and no NC. With Miles still in place, 0% any of that would've happened. Sometimes you have to just see the dark clouds for what they are, ride the storm out, then enjoy the ultimate sunshine instead of being ok with the rain "as long as it don't flood".

I don't recall LSU firing Miles the night of the game. I thought he met with Alleva Sunday morning and was informed at that time.
Perhaps he knew in advance that it was coming. After all, he narrowly survived 2015 and had to know his leash was short.
I'm not very impressed with Josh. He states opinions and many of them state the obvious.

I've been a Tiger fan since the 1940s, and cannot think of a single game I'm happy we lost.
