But the biggest tell to me is that OM fans are so focused on that date. I want to beat them, but like most LSU fans, I see it as just another game we need to win to make the playoff. The bear/shark/rebs seem to have their entire identity wrapped up in the outcome of that game.
The biggest difference between the two programs/fan bases to me is that LSU embraces our irreverant, trashy, black sheep status at scale...but in general, at the individual level, I keep hearing from others that LSU fans are always great to interact with.
The shark/bear/rebs, on the other hand, pretend to be all hoity-toity, fancy, classy, upper crust or whatever, and over the course of my life, almost without exception, are a bunch of douchy a-holes as individuals.
Oh yeah, and I guess the other difference is all the hardware in our football ops building -- natties, SEC championships, etc -- and the reb/bear/sharks ain't got squat.

They have close competition with Florida.
I've been to Gainesville/Swamp four times for LSU games. I've never had a trip without an incident. One year the GBFTL was doing an impromptu pregame pep rally for about 100+ Tiger fans when a drunk gator fan bum rushed a group. He was immediately subdued by LEO.
As for Ole Miss fans, they have little brother syndrome relative to LSU and Kiffin's departure just upped the hatred and jealousy. They are pretentious pricks who still haven't won a conference title in over 60 years. They had major success last year because of Kiffin. You can bet that they are wondering if they can sustain it without him.

They are the worst fanbase in the SEC at the moment. Delusions of grandeur on top of their trashiness. Pete is a perfect fit for them.

It's great to hate Ole Miss again. Back in the 60's the kids lined up to welcome the opposing bus with many 5 to 8 year olds flashing the bird at em. GTHOM, GTH. I loved hearing that multiple times even when we weren't playing OM. Watching the Tigers on national tv steam roll Archie 61-17 was special. Just as fun was watching Eli fall on his arse to secure their coveted sec west co-championship. My personal favorite is watching Burt and the boys run two plays in 4 secs to beat their arse. Bec mon chu, Ole Miss!

LSU fans have no place to talk about other fans having class or not. We have a very large number of classless fans but it's sort of a badge of honor at this point. I mean our whole stadium chants for opposing fans to STTDB. Ole Miss fans telling you they're going to beat LSU's arse is child's play compared to that.

As an LSU fan, I have never gone up to a fan of another SEC school in public and talked trash. So yes, some LSU fans would never do such a thing.
