The original time it was posted, I anchored it… Subsequent threads about this were deleted. How is this article any different than a troll Thread?

quote:

But nothing dismayed Temple as much as the message sent by Kelly’s pay. In a state where one in five residents lives below the poverty line, on a campus where the football team’s player workforce is unpaid, in a city where the predominantly Black state house district that includes Tiger Stadium has a median household income of $24,865 a year, the White man who will coach there will be paid no less than $24,657 a day.

I don't apologize for being outraged by this kind of garbage article getting national proliferation.

If CTJr put out that piece, he got burned with the quote where he said he only cared if CBK beat Alabama. So, I don’t know.

But…
What a horrid article. The subject, Mr. Toombs, seems to blame everyone else for his problems but him. No one made him drop out of his HBCU. No one made him sell drugs and steal. No one made him get that girl pregnant. No one made him buy a house he couldn’t afford.

Given all that, this quote was the most audacious:

“But he didn’t believe her, because he was special in a place where unremarkable White men prosper.”

Temple orchestrated the entire thing.

You don’t have an issue with a BOS member organizing a hit piece on LSU?

If this was a generic news article I wouldn’t care.

Temple backstabbing Kelly is news, IMO.

It does quote an LSU BoS member frequently so even if it's motives were pure troll it's still of interest.

Dude you keep on being a Karen and looking for BS articles to start a bunch of shite! If you thing this article is gonna sabotage coach BK, you really are a nut job. LSU won't win or lose one football game over it. Explain to me how this will lose us football games! You're a drama queen lol!

I'm also wondering if anyone from ExxonMobil has gotten wind of this nugget of 100% bullshite.

quote:

He took a job as a chemical blender at the ExxonMobil refinery in North Baton Rouge, part of a corridor of widespread air pollution known as “Cancer Alley.” The fumes made Chris’s face peel and his head hurt, so he quit and started selling auto parts.

The problem is the article, not people talking about the article.

Ok I just read the article and I wouldn't describe it as a hit piece on Brian Kelly. But it is weird that Temple claims to have set up that meeting at Louie's to see how Kelly was going to talk to and interact with this other black dude. Claims he graded Kelly a C on the meeting but didn't specify as to why. Also Temple says he is holding out judgement on Kelly until he see's if Kelly can beat Alabama, Georgia and Florida? Well the whole point of the story it would appear is the Baton Rouge black community's relationship with LSU and instead of him saying he wanted to see how Kelly interacted with his black players and recruits he instead said he was going to judge him on wins and losses. ( Oh also I have no doubt now this article was driven by Collis Temple, he is discussed as much as the subject ). I don't get what the goal of this article is. The subject is obvious a smart dude who made some mistakes in his life but they are trying to blame race on this when it sounds to me like it is all manufactured. This guy has had opportunity after opportunity more than the majority of white people get and the missteps they describe are of his own making not someone else's. Sounds like this dude just doesn't know what he really wants to do with his life and has no follow through. He is moaning about only making 12,000 dollars while being a student, what does he expect? Nah I don't see that as being a hit piece at Kelly personally, they are just using Kelly as a means to a end to further their victim mentality.

I read the article. It sounds to me like the subject of the article has been given many opportunities that he has failed to take full advantage of.

I don't know if it cost LSU a game. But you are insane if you don't think every recruiter from other SEC schools on the trail are not linking this and sending it to every kid they want and fighting LSU to get.

There are plenty of black doctors, lawyers, medical personnel and even military leaders. Chris Toombs has had the same opportunity to make it as anyone. Those confederate named streets and David Duke haven’t had anything to do with his lack of progress. It’s the same ole shite, blame your problems on somebody else. You’re a victim.

I don’t think this article will sabotage him. I don’t think it will have any affect at all.

That doesn’t mean that a Board of Supervisors member and prominent LSU alumni ATTEMPTING to sabotage Kelly isn’t newsworthy.

I believe Temple’s involvement and motives are newsworthy.

Which of his choices leads you to conclude that Mr. Toombs is obviously smart?

“I want you to speak to him,” Temple recalls thinking, “and I want to see your reaction. I want to see if you’re going to speak to him or speak at him or speak down to him or speak over their head. I want to see if your speaking is going to be sincere or if it’s going to be racist or: ‘What the f--- am I speaking to this n---- for?’”

This is indefensible. Temple admits his starting point is that Kelly is going to be racist.

What a sad man. He had every opportunity to bring people together. Instead he uses what little influence he has to divide.

Temple?

Injecting himself into something about race-baiting?

Water is wet.
