How many times are we gonna go over this ?

Wade was a sacrifice LSU made to get the ncaa off our backs for the football investigation. They weren’t backing down and were going to drag football down to the gutter if nothing was done.

This is the same FBI that thought it was a good idea to raid a former president's home and raid through his wife's panties. They have been an out of control organization for years and will hopefully be purged of the corruption.

My real answer?

No idea.

They gotta find something to do besides shite that matters.

Might as well decide all of a sudden to look into basketball handlers and deal brokers - you know, because. It's not like anything AAU and "Uncle Mike's" didn't exist for the last 30+ fricking years.

To me it's nonsense.

But that was a decade prior. LSU will be the last major school to crumble under the threat of the NCAA. Everybody else just lawyers up and the NCAA backs down.

The NCAA has been powerless for the last several years. Wade wasn’t Woody’s guy and he didn’t care how good of a coach he was. Woody wasn’t going to bat for him. Woody created a situation where no good coach was coming to work for him.

LSU crumbled while Kansas and Auburn didn’t. It’s really that simple.

Most Catholic High graduates and employees are known to be spineless cowards. This is my understanding.

Wade was a great one. LSU may never recover

What Scott Woodward claims and what reality is are two different things.

The McMahon NIL narrative is evidence of that.

I honestly think some of us completely forgot how this truly went down.

I’m most pissed at Dick Vitale.

it all started with Cal being pissed at WW getting Smart over him - but yes - he got Vitale and Forde to carry the water for him which I have to say they did much better than even Cal could have hoped for.

They were absolutely relentless, and they were "NEVER" going to quit.

But yeah, I'll never use the volume on a game Dick is calling ever again. It will be muted, his voice nauseates me knowing how embarrassingly hypocritical he was in his vendetta. I and many have listed the examples of it numerous times and it's indefensible.

do you believe the Texas and Citrus Bowl invites were worth destroying the men’s basketball program?
Bowl games to gauge the program overall is somewhat irrelevant.

If it is true (which we don’t know) that Woodward chose to spare the football program from any sanctions stemming from the Les Miles era, and lose one of the most successful basketball coaches LSU has ever had, then it’s hard to blame Woodward for that decision.

If LSU retained Will Wade, then yes I fully expect LSU basketball to be a legit contender ranked in the top 25 annually. But if the NCAA would have punished LSU football, then we wouldn’t have Brian Kelly as our head coach and Jayden Daniels probably goes somewhere else.

Hindsight is 20/20. Hiring McMahon at the time wasn’t a home run, but a solid hire considering the state of the program. No one thought his teams would be so terrible every season.

Retaining McMahon is a head scratcher. The only reason I can see why LSU would retain him is the boosters largely care about football. Football went on a huge NIL ad campaign after losing out on Underwood and the boosters likely chose to donate to football 3 months ago and nobody wants to cough up $7.5Million to buy out McMahon now.
