Changing signals can create confusion. If you have one hand sign that means a certain formation or play and then you change it every week or a few times throughout the season, you run the risk of confusing your own players.

Yeah, but IF Clemson stymied our early drives because they'd stolen our signs, we didn't have any problems w/ confusion after we changed our signs. I'm sure there are ways to change the signs w/o causing confusion for your team.

The 2019 team is a beast that has more ability than most.

Look at the 2023 lsu defense for example, our guys couldn’t figure out the first version of signs. Changing signs on them probably would have made their heads explode.

Seems easily plausible for 2019. By week 9 ish, you could see that lsu Clemson and Ohio st had separated themselves from the pack and where you needed to send someone.

The last 2 home games were so lopsided, you can probably watch the game tape and find the random person in the chairbacks still there in the fourth Q with their phone out.

First thing g I thought was If Les Miles coached that game, we would have been blown out.

“Damn our game plan is not working….run the plan for a few more drives and see what happens.”

Orgeron was too smart for them.
He was quick to seize the opportunity to impose his will.
Unlike the Ohio St Coach, it took him two years.

That'd be one of MANY problems w/ this year's defense.

I'm not certain Clemson could have stopped those passes to Chase in one-on-one coverage if the routes had been sketched out for him in advance. Terrell's coverage was fantastic on both bombs, as well as on the shorter TD. Burrow-Chase were just better. Same with the putaway TD to Marshall.

Saying it's no big deal is not what...apparently...many coaches are saying. If it's a big deal to the people actually affected by it, it is a big deal. Standing on the sideline & looking across the field, stealing signs that way is one thing; paying a staff member to go to opponents' games & videoing calls, is a whole different animal. And he had to be paid, as the cost of tickets alone would be too expensive to simply eat. Add to that travel, meals, hotels & no way a "low level staffer" pays for it out of his own pocket.

There were definitely rumors after the 2012 NC game debacle

Alabama brought in Gregg Williams to stop the option. All they really had to do was rewatch the 9-6 game.

In response to The Mick saying I’m diminishing what he did in 2019 by bringing up the Pelini hire is curious because the hire was not in 2019.

I’m grateful for 2019 and enjoyed every moment of the season. However, he’s not free of blame for everything that came after. How you can say differently is beyond me.

If one team manages to decipher another team's signals through film study or in game, so be it.

Pisses me off we didn’t score at the end of the game when we essentially hit a knee in the red zone with 2 minutes left to go in the game.
