You’re assuming this is over. The players have lawyers and they might not go away quietly. The SEC can’t punish the lawyer

that is what will happen. lane was trying to push any loopholes he could find to the max, which he should as our hc. but i am guessing admin and he will decide juice ain't worth the squeeze at this point. this shite is crazy.

He never signed a contract or appeared on an NFL roster is really the only difference. I don't k is the legal ramifications of that though.

It’s a voluntary league. The penalty is to the coaches and school it has no impact on the players other than they can’t play in the SEC.

There is a legal theory that this is indirectly punishes the player and is an anticompetitive restraint. It will 100% be challenged by players' lawyers - they can name the SEC and all of its member institutions. No opinion on the merits, I am not an antitrust lawyer. I am just saying, that is coming.

its not like our team depends upon it. Lane saw an opportunity to add some pieces after camp, we tried, they cried, this is probably the end of it.
I get its probably overall bad but do think the players argument has some merit to it. Lane has to be the villain but really its the NCAA once again

It’s not even about LSU at this point. The players were screwed by the NCAA and they will more than likely put the same injunction on the Big 4 conferences just like they did the NCAA. Which said they can’t punish the institutions or coaches.
