This stinks of another “virus” scare/population control by the government.

The new low hanging fruit: disagreeing with something = gotta be politically motivated

I gotta agree here, why would the sec want games canceled? Any game not played is lost revenue, for the conference and the organization.I’m sure there’s some cya going on since if you break a nail Gordon will get you paid.

bait and switch…

get 90% of our fb team to vax up, only to still get tested with the chance of game cancellations

at least the players can feel safe in knowing they won’t get covid again

Tell that to the American Olympic Gymnast that just had a positive “china- virus” test. She was vaccinated 2 months ago !
They’re all lying to us at this point, im just trying to discern who the biggest liars are …

Hospitalizations are going up. The variant is new. It may be not much different than original covid 19, or it may, but they of course are going to act with caution when facing something new

It's only new here

Death rate in UK is lower than original covid 19

So this opens the door for them to test vaccinated players once a couple of unvaccinated players test positive, because of the potential for "an outbreak."

This is exactly what was always going to happen. They are going to change the rules on the fly whenever they feel like it and do their best to ruin the season.

I am not saying there is a political gain, but this much can’t be argued even by the great Lester Earl:

Democrats are for more testing, restrictions, and people having to sit out

Republicans are for going back to absolute normal

Those aren’t opinions that even the most argumentative person would entertain

Again what is the benefit for them doing this and costing themselves money?

Again, why are you pretending more testing, more barriers to normal, isn’t 100% a Democrat thing?

It’s not lost on me that republicans are super insecure about what has happened in the past year or so. SoJust because that is the lens you wish to view everything doesn’t mean that it is a politically motivated

Like it or not, disagree with it or not, it’s a liability thing to decision makers. No one wants to be responsible for a major incident revolving around a kid or coach, or a possible outbreak at an event. Even if the percentage is tiny. I don’t even agree with it but it’s just not some political thing to piss of a whole conference of republicans lol

First off, im not here trying to make it political. Secondly, because it would have to be assumed that the sec commissioner and his advisors are all democrat, which the odds of that are pretty low.

They are following the suggestions of a batshit lunatic that says “take the vaccine or choose death”

And

“Delta is coming for your children”

They have choose an absolute quack to give them their info, so yes they have fallen into the politics of covid

No, i mean doctors. I dont make most things political.

Drs and Dr. Organizations are different things. The Dr. Organizations are political. That has been proven over time. The data shows that all the precautions we did last time really didn’t amount to much difference.

Where do you think this "advising" comes from. It comes from the top down with the White House and CDC and Facebook pulling the strings. You only get specific allowed information. If groups don't comply, the fear porn gets put in high gear and you get shamed or scared into compliance. If you refuse, you get cancelled. You need to watch Fauci try to change the meaning of words in his latest shouting match in a Senate hearing and tell me he isn't political. Changing the meaning of words to skate around something with a self-serving "moral high ground" is right out of the democRat playbook. People of science don't change the meaning of words to serve their interests.

The SEC will receive zero blowback from the media if they instituted the most stringent restrictions related to the virus. But what would be the media response if they gave the appearance that they were doing nothing and a player ended up in the hospital (I know this is almost statistically zero) or an older member of the staff died? That's what they want to avoid at all costs. When you have restrictions and something goes wrong you can always blame the victim in these situations.

It's all cover your arse bullshite theater. It does nothing but give the appearance of doing something. Lockdowns didn't work, mass testing didn't work, masks don't work but we still have people in society calling for these things because they want to feel like the government is doing something about the virus. They cannot come to grips with the idea that this thing has to play itself out.
