Sankey is showing his true colors, and also that he is in way over his head in this position. He is an emotional midget, and has had his arse handed to him numerous times, including by the Big 10. I think he knows that he is gone. I hope LSU can figure out a financial way to say FU to the SEC...either that, or get that POS out of the SEC. I don't think both will be able to exist together. He truly is a mental midget, and not that smart it appears. The SEC is going to owe a lot of entities, eventually. They appear to have turned rogue.

This is a TOTAL attempted leverage play by the SEC. Go do so research. This is the EXACT lawsuit the Big 12 filed against Texas Tech in the Sorsby case. The SEC is trying to run the exact same playbook in hopes of forcing LSU to back off of its position like Texas Tech did with Sorsby.
The problem for the SEC is that this ain't the Sorsby case. There wasn't any prior precedent of players who admitted to gambling on their own team playing anyway because of a court order. There have been dozens, if not hundreds, of players over the last 5 years who successfully challenged the NCAA's inconsistently applied and ever-changing eligibility rules and subsequently played without consequence.
This lawsuit NEVER happens if the Sorsby case doesn't happen this summer. And it is a blatant example of the SEC displaying selective outrage against a member institution. LSU should 100% fight this. Not because they need the involved players. But because this a BS leverage play by the SEC on a legally pathetic basis (1st amendment violation)

We didn't break any rules because there really aren't any rules (until the SEC made one up, and we ultimately complied with it).
It is best that some real rules get set out around this stuff instead of random bullshite around how certain types of tryouts and camp participation are okay, others are not.
That said politicians getting involved in this have made it a mess, and Sankey is also very clearly butthurt and wants to punish LSU now which makes him unfit for the job.

I’d like to know how discovery actually works in a case like this. Does discovery extend to the other SEC member institutions?
In other words - if LSU’s defense is “all of the schools did the same thing and now they’re colluding to come after LSU,” do those programs’ text messages, phone records, etc. become subject to discovery or is it limited to the SEC itself?

I've been saying this since this started. The SEC is clearly and intentionally seeking to damage the LSU Brand. There are clear damages out there and the judge alluded to that in his findings, last week. LSU can't play nice here, imo, it doesn't work, and I don't think they should. As noted, this is war, and I think LSU is in a very strong position of power. Frick Sankey. I know he is a liberal pos, but is he Gay too?

Also, the threat made by Ken Paxton allowed that litigation to be possible. There is no threat here by law enforcement, so the argument doesn't work.

The SEC, Sankey, and other schools are stupid enough to think this is an identical situation to Texas Tech and Sorsby, but ignoring the fact that the AG of Texas threatened to sue any programs that refused to play Texas Tech or boycott them within their conference.
