yeah, and first year head coaches ALWAYS kill it.

I mean, just look how much success Mullen had in year 1...

good coaches can get a lot of improvement quickly and then get to the top in year two (see Saban and Meyer, each at multiple jobs).

Coaching makes a big difference in the college game.

It's all about the direction. We could finish 6-6 by losing to higher ranked teams and beating who we should but be playing remarkable better towards the end of the year and put together a total game against A&M and blow out our bowl competition. Aranda stays, Burrow rounds into shape and key recruits stay and/or join, pointing to 2019 being a great year.

Or we could have a better record (say 8-4) but still have a stumbling offense, Aranda could leave, Brennan and/or Narcisse could leave and recruits could read the writing on the wall and bolt.

I think there is much more to the arc of the program than just the overall record but of course the overall record certainly correlates to the health of the program.

So he thinks either 6-6, 7-5, or 8-4. Wow, thanks. I predict between 0-4 (Hurricanes forcing games to be rescheduled, and then they aren't made up) and 15-0, where we win the national championship, but agree to then play UCF for the WBC Welterweight Title as well.

lol I seriously doubt that but we’ll see. Give me chase and Marshall over him any day though.

Jason on the other hand is a beast.

His passing problems last season were mainly due to injuries and lack of talent at WR.

Ok... I’m sure they were.

Trust me when I say this, he is no Dak Prescott. He is not a passing QB and no amount of receivers are going to change that.

If you think that game had more to do with State being good rather than LSU just came out flat and basically played like they didn’t give a damn, then you are an idiot.

Yeah, because that team had 5 nfl prospects on the defensive line (including 2 all Americans), a senior QB who will end up having the all time Sec QB rushing yards record, a 1,000 yard rusher at running back (who is being pushed for the starting job by Kylin Hill), the #1 JUCO WR (scouts say he will be drafted in April), returns 4 of 5 starters from the offensive line that gave up the least sacks in the sec (5th in ncaa), 3rd least tackles for loss (15th in ncaa), on 3rd and 4th down with less than 2 yards to go, we ran for a first down or a touchdown 84.2% of the time. That's #2 in the NCAA and #1 in the sec. We have veteran talent at linebacker, added talent at cornerback from an 8-4 team last season, and the returning sec interception leader from last season.

Seriously, we have the best defensive line in the SEC, top 3 in the country. And a dynamic running game on offense.

If O gets canned, will we actually be paying 3 head coaches next year?? When do we stop paying Les not to coach?

O’s Buyout should be paid directly from Alleva’s personal finances.

I think anything less than 9 wins or 8 with a big win over bama or Uga and alleva and O are both toast.

I'd rather the former than the latter. There is absolutely no excuse for O, the great motivator, to have a team unmotivated in their first SEC contest.

Huh? They won by THIRTY

And if it's because we mailed it in, then that's even worse.

the #1 JUCO WR (scouts say he will be drafted in April)

You seem a lot higher on Guidry than a lot of guys in the know right now. Paul Jones doesnt even have him starting. Not sure what scout is saying anything about him right now, he's never taken a college DI snap. He only had like 250 yards receiving in JUCO last year and disappointed there.
