His reasoning was firing McMahon and his staff , hiring a new coach and staff plus money for NIL would cost around 30 million dollars and LSU isn’t willing to do that .

It's amazing how that fish just keeps getting bigger.

The rest of the staff might get gutted simply because their contracts are up.

McMahon must be a great bbq buddy to these guys. LSU can’t bring back a coach that’s 15-60.

The funny thing is they basically brought back Patrick to help him out.

Patrick does all of the stuff MM doesn't want to do...like recruiting and donor relations. That frees up MM to do what he does best which is.......

Give it another week and the reports will be LSU can’t afford the $110 million it would take to hire a real men’s basketball coach. By April it will hit the TD magic number.

I’d rather just not field a team next year, save the cash, and restart in 2027

Probably not. Scarborough has always been a moron and a terrible reporter in my opinion.

At this point I think even MM wants to be fired. That would allow him to get the buyout money and try to find another spot to land before his career continues to tank. Hell, I think he wanted to be fired after last year so he could try to get the Murray St job again. Now that ship has sailed.

Why would he want to return to a job where he has ZERO fan support, has no interest in trying to drum up financial support, and is getting embarrassed by the rest of the SEC for 2.5 months yearly? I think we might be about two weeks away from him putting on a body suit and "streaking" at Alex Box OR driving around the PMAC parking lot dragging the 2006 Final Four trophy.

How could ANY fan/donor support another season of McMahon heading this program?

(Cue tigerbb coming in to challenge everyone to a fight)

What? You don’t want to read Larry Leo’s biweekly recaps of “LSU basketball falls on the road to Georgia by 32”

At least that would be single digits.

Why change the gutt the staff if your not going to gut the whole program.

I get not wanting to spend the money but why change anything if you don’t want to spend the money…

I love football. I love baseball. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to love basketball in any manner, but I can’t understand how LSU continues to do everything possible, it seems, to actively damage the prospects of the second major revenue-generating sport on the collegiate level.

Make it make sense.

Scarborough doesn’t know shite. He hears rumors just like everyone else. A new AD always wants to hire his own coaches. Verge should be able to go find whoever he thinks is the best candidate to return this program to relevancy. Mcmahon’s time is up. The product he has put on the floor the last two years is completely unacceptable.

Gotta keep that 10-1, 9-2 pre conference start trend going.

Yep. Which makes that proposal totally illogical. "Let's spend money fixing everything....EXCEPT the actual problem"

If McClown loses the next 5 sec. Games, and the 1st round game in the SEC. Tournament. That would be 10 losses in a row to end the season, 2-16 in the conference for a 2nd time in his 4 years which would be 15th or 16th place. There is no way in hell you keep him,the only way he has any chance of not getting fired is, starting tomorrow they win 6 in a row! There last 5 SEC games and the 1st round in the conference tournament. They would be 20-13,and even then I don't think it would save him because Verge said if he doesn't make the NCAA tournament they would take a long look at men's basketball, basically saying MM you make the tournament or your gone! SEE YA McCLOWN!
