Very well said. You want to be respected as a leader with authority then get off your arse and lead.

This is all the NCAA's own doing.
Dating back to the Ed O'Bannon stuff, all it had to do was let players get paid for video games and get a percentage of money on jersey sales.
Instead, they got cocky in thinking they are bigger than the players, basically daring the players to take them to court.
Now they have no power.

While it might suck for us temporarily, I think it's the best thing for college football to put control back in the hands of the schools

I'm just curious what they think about all the overseas "pros" that have been playing college basketball for years? They can't pick and choose on this.
They are so shortsighted, and that is why you are having all of these issues in college sports right now.

LSU is recruiting players who are actively in the transfer portal, that's a far cry from "going rogue"

That would be collusion and be quickly in the courts again as overt anti-competitive actions

Its always been controlled by the schools. The schools have the option of not accepting these players and following the NCAA rules and conference rules. But they no longer care about following them no matter how much complaining they do publicly. They are the reason we are in this mess and its gonna take government intervention to fix it.

This is pretty much what happened with Texas Tech and Sorsby. Local judge in Lubbock granted the TRO saying Sorsby was eligible and then the rest of the Big 12 members threatened to boycott games vs TTU and hit them with sanctions from the conference.
Whether or not the same thing happens to LSU in this situation is going to depend on whether a few other SEC teams try to do the same thing with signing 2022 players who had previously went through the NFL draft or training camp. If LSU is the only one trying to do it, the rest of the conference will gang up on us....just like the other Big 12 members did to TTU over Sorsby
Its not at all similar. Sorsby was a safety and integrity issue. There were already conference rules in place and making an exception to those rules would have been to Sorsbys own misconduct... not piss poor planning from leadership. The SEC rule is nearly irrelevant in this case. These players had no opportunity to abide by it.

You can't have shite in limbo like this where we don't know if players are on our roster or not and week 1 is almost here.

and the courts have made it worse.
No that's the NCAA. This is one they could have made pretty straight forward and simple....but as usual they left the window open for this, then one gets by, and the floodgates open.
LSU saw 5 for 5 was inevitable and what the fall out from that would be, so both Kiffin and wade were proactive and it really hasn't been a secret.

Ultimately if they want to play this game then Trinidad Chambless shouldn’t have this year to play too.

I understand what you’re arguing, but this is a different situation completely.

I don't care either way just make a decision. It would need to be across the board though if you deem them ineligible. Which means TX loses a starting OL one week or less before games. Also means you just helped your biggest competition improve their rosters cause you know one of the big competitors of Ohio St, Texas Tech, Miami, Oregon etc will scoop them up.

This is lose -lose for the SEC office and conference.
They will not win in court. If they keep teams in line great but other conferences and teams move ahead with it. The players will be paid in settlements and potentially still play somewhere.
Embrace the world as it is Sankey. You run a pro league now. You should embrace talent as that is what made you. You need to stand up to the weak schools that want to be pansies.
