I actually don't care but make a fricking decision that everyone has to abide by and do it immediatly.
You can't have shite in limbo like this where we don't know if players are on our roster or not and week 1 is almost here.

It's kind of funny their panties are in a wad about players that never played in an actual NFL game and got rejected but are allowing a judge to decide that a probable first rounder gets to come back and play quarterback for Ole Miss.

If this is pushed to court he’ll lose; the TRO has been granted already and you can’t penalize a school for taking eligible players. The commissioners are trying to put as much external pressure on the teams as they can to give the appearance of guardrails. Unfortunately for them, they’re dealing with Lane who isn’t going to fold.
Worst case scenario I guess we don’t get the players and this whole process accelerates the path to a new governing body over NCAA football.

Sankey will wait and see what other leagues do. If the Big 10 allows thes eplayers to play then the SEC will as well. If everyone else bans these players then the SEC will as well. He is not gonna put his league at a disadvantage.

Sanky is hurting the SEC by adding an extra game when depth has been destroyed by the portal. Then he follows it up by trying to block us from building depth when other conferences will capitalize on it. Whose side is Sanky on?

I've been arguing with strangers on the internet about this, and it's getting tiresome. Everybody is blanketly blaming LSU. Like we somehow overruled the NCAA and have just gone rogue.
I don't really care for it either, but if you're gonna make a rule, make a fricking rule. Go talk to the Big 10, Big 12, and ACC and get them to all agree not to take these players too and then you have something.

Sorsby’s moment? Wow talk about apples and oranges. That’s a stretch. Hey Sankey why don’t you try and do your job and do whatever it takes to make the SEC the best conference in sports again. Maybe it’s time for a new commissioner. Sanky like Saban may have been good for his time but not cut throat enough for this day and age of college sports.

This is pretty much what happened with Texas Tech and Sorsby. Local judge in Lubbock granted the TRO saying Sorsby was eligible and then the rest of the Big 12 members threatened to boycott games vs TTU and hit them with sanctions from the conference.
Whether or not the same thing happens to LSU in this situation is going to depend on whether a few other SEC teams try to do the same thing with signing 2022 players who had previously went through the NFL draft or training camp. If LSU is the only one trying to do it, the rest of the conference will gang up on us....just like the other Big 12 members did to TTU over Sorsby

As calculated as these things have been, I think that we should see a statement with some type of actionable framework that governs these things. Verge's comments earlier this summer weren't that LSU was going to play outside of the rules, and that he wanted the SEC and NCAA to have rules in place.
If this crap on our face right now, means rules that govern on tomorrow, I'm all for it. I don't like the position that we're being placed in right now with making these football additions. I understand at a surface level how we got here, but I don't want us to be the flag bearer of POS schools who've found a back door.

the NCAA created this mess, they hoped by draining the clock they could avoid having the mess on their hands....but once again they stick their head in the sand until the courts tell them to eat shite. There was no reason other than that to delay the approval for as long as they did.
Chambliss has less of a case to be eligible than some of these guys but no issues there?

Sorry our staff had the foresight to see what was inevitable and began preparing weeks/months ago for it. Maybe the NCAA should practice that skill, it would save them a ton in legal fees

Won't even be mad if it does pass. We all shite on Bama last year for it, and mostly all agree it shouldn't happen.
I agree with Lane that if its allowed, don't get left behind. Just wish they could get a handle on things quickly.

UT took back one of their OL that went into the draft, went undrafted, and was then picked up for Rookie Minicamp and start of training camp in the summer.
He didn't make the team and came back. He likely received a camp invitation with some money to attend that camp. Makes him a pro just as much as these other guys.
In the end, it is annoying but a one-time issue, and I am fine if the NCAA and conferences state that once going pro (entering the draft, attending mini-camp, training camp) equals loss of eligibility moving forward.
Having an agent used to do that, too, but now it is permitted, which is stupid.
In the end, this is a messed up situation, and the courts have made it worse.
Plenty of times, things change and the people that went before get screwed while the newer peeps get an advantage.
It happens in college curricula, benefits from jobs, and salaries. Without a union, this shite is going to happen.
