Brody Miller of The Athletic suggests that LSU's will be Ole Miss, A&M, and Bama.

Hate getting stuck with those weirdo queers from college station. I'd much rather keep Florida on the schedule.

Saban scared
Gonna be a lot of teams not happy with the scheduling
It really doesn't matter with the expanded playoffs
It will likely take about 5 losses to knock bama out

He's not wrong, we shouldn't be their permanent opponent. But there's too much money in our rivalry right now to let it go away.

I would bet that the TV ratings for Bama and eaTme are what drives the pairing.

I agree. Florida instead of the Quitting Farmers.

Agreed. LSU has played them every year since 1971. Yes, it generally gave LSU a tougher schedule than other schools in the league. But there have been some great moments in that rivalry. It will be odd not to see Florida on the schedule any longer.

We’ll still play them every other year. As much as I enjoy the Florida game it’s not going to be like it is now where it takes 8 years to go around the SEC.

Why are lsu fans so against bama? This game brings in fans from all over just to experience the atmosphere? Would you rather have Vandy and nobody show up to the game?

I'm fine with Bama. I think 10 years ago that would have sucked, but the "tide" is changing.

I don’t get it either. College football is entertainment and I want as many good games as I can get.

We would likely have to beat them to achieve our goals anyway. Whether it’s in the regular season or in Atlanta or in the playoffs an SEC team is likely going to have to contend with Alabama to win the national championship.

With everyone playing everyone so often and the expanded playoff the permanent opponents won’t mean what they used to. Plus Bama is trending down anyway.

This.

Also if divisions are taken away then it won’t matter as much for SEC titles either.

That would be a brutal grouping. Who's idea was it to take historically the 4 best SEC West schools and put them in a single group. Guess they're trying to make it easy for OU and UT likely getting matched with Miss State and Arkansas. I assume Auburn is getting paired with UGA.

Yeah Bama will not be the same post Saban and thats coming soon with the guy turning 72 this year and there's cracks already really starting to show.

The chance the next coach comes in and wins a title almost every other year is pretty dang slim

But now we’ll probably have to beat them twice in a season to do so. Remind me how that went last time?

I want whatever is the best scenario for LSU to make the playoffs every year and this isn’t it.

If you can’t watch the games and see they aren’t what they used to be the last few years, asterix Covid season aside when they played in front of cardboard cut outs and against teams missing multiple starters while they magically never had one, then I don’t know what to tell you.

They likely arent reverting back to that any time soon, but it's going to be impossible basically to replicate Saban's sustained top success he's had there.
