I was there for both; it was my birthday in 1988 in the old Purple Section. (Not as much fun as in the bowl but my wife liked the amenities.) I remember it as a sloppy, dull game until the last drive. Everybody stayed until the end; evidenced by us not moving for 3 hours trying to get out from the old band practice field.

I was at both. The earthquake game was two weeks before I got married. I was sitting in the same seat for both. Section 304.
