If Kiffin wins by stretching/testing the rules to their limits do you know what happens? LSU fans love him and won't be upset in the least to see a National Championship trophy at football ops. In fact, LSU will raise another championship flag and everyone will cheer.
If he operates for the "betterment of the game" (while competitors don't) and he loses do you know what happens? LSU fans want him fired
Fans like to pontificate and virtue signal that they care about "integrity". But the reality is at the major college and NFL level ALL they care about is winning. It's strictly entertainment and winning is far more entertaining than losing. That puts fans into two different categories. People who pretend other things matter beyond the W/L record. And those who are disingenuous and know W/Ls is all that actually matters for the fans.
If ultimately what he is trying to do is held to be against the rules and he is unable to do it, so be it. I won't be upset as a fan. But I won't blame any HC for trying to stretch the rules to the limit to gain a competitive advantage for their team

That entire CBS article was bullshite.
They said that LSU had already signed three players that had been in the NFL, pretty sure they said Texas had signed one as well. There were several other things in the article that were just complete lies.
It’s entertaining in itself to read it just to see how much bullshite was in it?
