LSU has a lot of young talent that can easily break out. Here’s who I think will cement themselves as superstars next season:

1 Harold Perkins (LB):
You could say he already is a superstar. However he could be even better next season. He put up top tier SEC numbers this past year and he didn’t even consistently play all the time.

2 Malik Nabers (WR) :
Flashed several times this past season. He is likely the number 1 option next season. Has good hands, speed, and big play ability. Next season he could solidify himself as a top 1-2 round draft pick.

3 Mason Taylor (TE):
Brian Kelly has compared him to Brock Bowers before, so we know how much Kelly thinks of Taylor. Has a really high ceiling, and has proven he can be a game changer.

4 Maason Smith (DL):
We have not really got to see him play as much as we would have hoped with the injury and the rotation as a freshmen. But when he did play he was easily the best player on the defense. I see him reminding us how good he really is next season.

5 Denver Harris (CB):
Denver Harris was on the midseason all American list as a freshmen. He was a lockdown corner when he played. With the development under Steeples he will likely be one of the best corners in the country, along with LSUs next 1st round draft pick for DBU.

Honorable mentions:
Will Campbell (OL)
Emory Jones (OL)
Mehki Wingo (DL)
Greg Brooks (S)
QB room (QBs)
Brian Thomas (WR)
Aaron Anderson (WR)

I think a healthy AA will be fun to watch this year. Every time he touches the ball it's a TD waiting to happen.

Will Campbell is the clear cut second after Perkins. He’s going to be an All-American by seasons end. He and Perkins will be top 5 picks in 2025. Surprised he’s only listed under honorable mention

Maason Smith - greatly improves our run defense. LSU gave up at least 200 yards rushing 5 times this year, giving up at least 255 yards 3 times. THAT CAN NOT HAPPEN. Also think he can cause havoc up the middle.

Malik Nabers - despite leading the WRs all year, all anybody could talk about was why didn't Boutte get more passes. Kid is a stud talent and not quite Jefferson or Chase, but I would squarely put him at a faster Jarvis Landry.

Aaron Anderson - kid could legit flip our return game on its head. 20 return TDs in his high school career is crazy. I think he'll be used in the run game and at WR. He'll be a breakout utility guy.

Saivion Jones - I think he's in for a huge year. More productive than Ali Gaye IMO, in a rotational role. Between him, Perkins, Smith, and Wingo, LSU might have the best pass rush in the SEC next year and possibly the best front 6 in the country.

Josh Williams - seriously I am super high on this kid if he can remain healthy. Think he is the most underrated player on the team by LSU fans and media. I could easily see him pace LSU with 1200-1300 yards next year if he stays healthy. He breaks tackles with his lower center of gravity, and runs with power. He can also catch the ball kut the backfield.

Honorable Mentions-
Denver Harris could be better than anyone I mentioned
Mehki Wingo he's already a 3rd team All American so does he become first team?
Brian Thomas he's going to have a breakout year as the #2 WR. I'm thinking a Terrace Marshall 2019 year something like 700 yards 10 TDs
Zy Alexander could he be the return of the interception kings we had like Greedy, Claiborne, and Stingley?
Mason Taylor I can easily see him double his production from this year.

ETA: Didn't put Perkins because he's already a super star. The Arkansas game shot him to household name status. Could have a Will Anderson 2021 type of year.

Not doubting this but didn’t he get injured on like the 3rd play of the first game?

Not really a huge sample size

If Chris Hilton stays healthy he'll be great. He has all the tools

I think it’s possible or we see a “LSUs dominating young OL” narrative begin to take shape next season. I think it’s very possible an OL with:
LT - Campbell
LG - Bradford/Frazier
C - Delly/ Turner/Martinez
RG- Jones/Frazier
RT - Heard

Is dominant and deep.

Perkins could be a better player and his numbers suffer a bit. This year, he was allowed to be a rover while everyone else played within the defense. As he learns the defense, he could easily make the defense better overall while losing some individual stats.

Any list like this without Campbell at or near the top is not credible.
In my opinion, the best football player on the team, regardless of position, will be Maason Smith.

Maason Smith-will be the best defensive player every time he walks on the field.

Harold Perkins- will be the best defensive player everytime he is on the field and Maason Smith isn't.

Will Campbell-Will grow this season and dominate. He will make those who play around him better.

Mason Taylor-By the end of the season he was perhaps the best freshman TE in the nation and still has so much more potential.

Jayden Daniels- He showed he can throw accurately, but didn't exhibit the confidence to stretch the field. With a full season and under his belt, he improves his vision and confidence and takes that next step.

Let the down votes begin!

Like the list, except Delly at C. When he briefly went to the C pos the snaps were all over the place. Still struggles with that aspect in the shotgun.

OL as a whole has the chance to really set the tone for our TEAM next season. Maintain and extend drives leading to points which means winning the TOP and field pos stat every game, and ensure a DEF is well rested ready to swarm to the ball and punish the opposition.
