Moran was awesome.
Wilson Alexander leaves a lot to be desired.

Kaminer, George, and B Doughty would be my choices to de-activate. I don't really understand the Brady deal, though - he's not been very good - lot of heart but not alot to get hitters out with.
I don't see any of that as gambling. Hopefully we don't need any of them. Marceaux, Labas, Money, Hellmers, Hilliard, Edwards, and Fontenot should be enough to eat 27 innings. If we need Millas, Coleman, or Brady for more than a few outs, we're already in deep crap.

Remember, if the weather is bad and games have to be stopped and restarted we may need more pitching than we usually need if starters or relievers get burned and can’t resume.

True. Both teams will have to deal with that, though. Contrary to popular belief, most teams aren't 10 deep with quality, experienced arms.

Pulmonary to the rescue!
Yeah Pawl sure has his finger on the trigger with this team.

Understood, but the topic is pitching depth. We lack it. SC had it.
We may need more arms than you think.
On the flip side we may have two 7 inning games so......

I mean, our BP has been struggling all year so it is not much of a gamble as a wishful move

I feel like every day is a “gamble” the longer we keep PM in charge of LSU baseball.

Does it really matter at this point? If a young guy does throw well isn’t just a matter of time before arm troubles sideline him?
But I’m glad he is tinkering a bit

Or if we warm up a guy. Burned till the following weekend.

I like Coleman. I wish we would have seen more of him, but hopefully he does well this weekend.

I like CPM. Wish him the best. Hope we sweep this weekend and every weekend.
But he lost me last weekend. We had almost no margin for error and he just blatantly mismanaged things vs UK.

Mainieri also expects wind to factor into how LSU approaches South Carolina’s hitters. He said forecasts predict gusts to blow into the stadium from right field Thursday night, so LSU might pitch inside more to left-handed hitters, trying to coax them into pulling fly balls that get batted down by the wind.
quote:
The bullpen’s problems perhaps reached a breaking point against Kentucky. In the final game of the series, LSU trailed 5-3 in the seventh inning. It hoped to mount a late comeback and complete the sweep, but after an error sparked the Wildcats, three relievers — freshman right-hander Michael Fowler, senior left-hander Brandon Kaminer and senior right-hander Aaron George — allowed a combined eight runs, three of them earned. LSU lost 13-4, souring the end of a rejuvenating weekend.
quote:
“We've got to get better with the depth of our bullpen,” Mainieri said Monday. “What we did yesterday, we've got to do better than that.”
