Going with a younger pitching staff:

quote:

“We're going to have to gamble,” Mainieri said.

Though LSU didn’t have its midweek game — the Tigers will play Grambling April 27 — Mainieri plans to alter parts of the active roster for the South Carolina series, adding freshman right-hander Theo Millas, freshman left-hander Javen Coleman and sophomore lefty Alex Brady. He didn’t say who won’t be available as a result.

“We're going to go with some of the younger kids and take a couple of the older guys off the active roster this weekend,” Mainieri said, “and put a couple younger guys on the roster and hope they're ready to perform.”

Is it really a gamble if they are replacing guys like vietmeier and george?

PM obviously didn’t realize that he’s had Brady on the active roster this whole time.

I get what he's saying. I just don't like hearing him say "we're going to have to gamble" in the 5th SEC series.

Was he active last weekend?

ETA: Genuinely curious. I know Kaminer and Hasty pitched in spots that maybe he would have previously.

Not for the travel roster but he was active for Vandy at home. And USCe is home so I’m not sure why he was singled out.

Almost seems like he doesn’t know his player’s capabilities.....unfortunately

Both squads are limited to 27 active players on SEC weekends. The home team can dress more but it doesn’t mean they’re eligible to play.

I know he threw against Vanderbilt but he must have been left off last weekend. We used to have beat reporters that would give us that info.

Luke was the best overall by far. Always good info. Great interactions online. Insight.

Delly got his feet wet on baseball. He was good because he asked good questions even if he wasn’t knowledgeable about the sport especially his first year. But he was great on Twitter always relaying info and responding to everyone. He was endearing. It’s cool to see how far he’s gotten so quickly.

ETA: Delly covered SWAC as well.

I missed Vietmeiers last outing but previous 2 were good

I have a bigger issue with Kaminer than Vietmeier
