They do it because they love LSU? Aiden was a part of that national championship team. Some of his best memories ever will be of his time at LSU with his teammates.

I also find it ironic that he gets criticized for saying the last part of the LSU alma mater by people who never attended a class at LSU.

Did he work harder to get the playing time more than whoever got it in front of him? Who played?

Point being = not saying he didn’t work hard, but did he work harder than the next guy to deserve playing time?

didn't have a great year
The only reason his numbers don't pop is because he gave up a 2 run homemrun against Grambling and had a poor outing in the SEC tournament. Otherwise, he was good this year.

I guess has marginally developed
in 2023 he pitched to 4 batters. He walked 3 and hit the other. He was a top 5 ERA on the team prior to the South Carolina game in the SECT

I'd expect him to drop down a level.
Guys who throw 100 with nasty breaking stuff don't "drop down a level". He'll either return to LSU or go to a power 4 program. LSU is after other guys with similar stuff and numbers. I highly doubt Jay told him to take a walk.

I disagree a lot.

He was showing signs of being a stopper. No way they asked him to leave. They probably told him where he stood and what he needs to do. Maybe he didn't like that.

But, they didn't ask him to leave.

maybe thats the players way of saying that they wanted to stay at LSU but the coach told them to leave to make space for the next Dylan Crews or Paul Skenes

Maybe he did and still wasn't good enough.

It's so lame the amount of animosity a kid gets because he is looking for a better opportunity, something literally everyone in this thread has done in their professional lives.

Of course he wasn't asked to leave.we don't even have any clue who is going to be on the roster next year .

No team in the country has so many good pitchers that Aiden isn't at minimum the last guy in the bullpen.

Yeah I take it back. Probably more along the lines of he wasn't promised a starting spot, has an offer and a guaranteed role by dropping down a level, and is testing the waters.

That’s his words. He wants has always wanted to be at LSU. Still does but there’s other factors in play.

They may always be LSU fans but realize they aren't good enough to make it there.

If he leaves lsu will always be apart of him. Think the adults are getting too high and mighty because kid said forever lsu. He spent 2 years here. Joe burrow spent 2 years here.

And if he comes back? It’s not a fore gone conclusion he’s gone.
