I don’t understand how you could consider that and then still quit?

This is a life question. Not a salty football fan one. I don’t think shead had any impact on the team at all. Don’t really care. Just odd to me watching people have no respect for themselves.

ETA: it is in the kid's interest to apply for a waver. Otherwise he isn't eligible for a scholarship for a full year, no?

Sadly yes. The spot is gone. Won’t be able to replace him. They can give the scholarship to a walk-on.
