Our 2.5Mill defense gave up all those TDs.

Thats not the only game defense was average. Its not a bad defense, but he needs to step it up if he is earning that much money. I'm sorry but its a fact. If he was getting paid 800K, I promise he wouldnt get this scrutiny.

in 3 years our worst finish on defense was 26, in case you suck at math 26 is less than 30-40

Nothing in any of your posts are facts. They’re literally opinions.

In fact, the actual facts being posted show your opinions to be ignorant.

on which point?

Paraphrasing:

He said he and Aranda agreed before the game that not blitzing as much was the best way to minimize SE’s scrambling ability.

They wanted to take away SEs run and force him to beat them throwing downfield. They obviously weren’t expecting SE to throw perfect dimes as many times as he did. But they basically did take away Ehlinger’s run threat.

Sometimes you have to look as much at what didn’t happen as what did. They thought SE could escape the blitz and run for 150+, and they were probably right.

Yeah it worked against Bryant, who’s a mediocre QB.

When they faced a QB who could make the throws they had 44 points put up on them.

You’re on a roll now.

ETA: Both Watson and Lawrence shredded Alabama. Ehlinger isn’t in that tier, but he’s just below it. People tried to tell this board he was a “better passing version” of Tebow. He’s not some scrub.

first of all, bull shite . I guarandamntee you "Mallevto" was not the highest paid DC and i seriously doubt Steele was either

that you keep bringing up his salary is stupid. He's paid the market rate and the market values him as a top tier DC. The market > you.

you can pay some a billion dollars, against good offenses and good QBs in today's college FB they are going to score.

seemed to be when they were tired

I lay most of the blame on scheme. I think being aggressive helps in all aspects. Pressures the qb, forces TFL and sacks, turnovers and better tackling.

And allows a QB like Ehlinger to escape blitzes and run for 150+ because there’s nobody behind them once he escapes the blitz.

O basically said it himself, that that is why he and Aranda decided not to blitz the whole game. Pay attention.

Tell Texas that. They brought 6 on 3rd and 17 and gave up a 65 yard catch and run.

I guess it’s a good thing you aren’t making the decisions.

UCF---32

At least 10 of those points, if I recall correctly, were from turnovers by the offense. A Pick-6 and a fumble that led to a field goal after the UCF offense gained 0 yards deep in LSU territory.

Ok, Lawerence wasn't a running threat, that's kind of an irrelevant take. And that was certainly was a case of just exceptional man beaters and great throws in very tight coverage.
