This is what it will come down to.

I think mcmahon will be fine as a recruiter in the long run.

Blows him out of the water?? No. Is MM a better coach?? Yes. I liked the General a LOT, but starting noticing his deficiencies a couple years back with his “street ball” approach. MM is more of a tactician

Well it is looking like MM can get the best instate talent to stay home at the very least with 3-5 year 4 star players and the occasional 5* with transfers to fill the holes each year to reach his goals.

I’d prefer having a coach that can keep any team he’s got on the court competitive with anyone over a coach who has to load up with the best talent the country has to compete each season. Looking lost when the heat is on and seeing the players heads down because their confidence was built on false hope.

I liked WW but I’ve never seen any of his teams still look confident like they know exactly where they are and what needs to happen to prevent these losses next time. This teams foundation is strong so it will be tough for anyone to beat them. We are actually in a lawl right now and still almost beat Kentucky away. If this is a home game, we probably win it. SEC away games are extremely tough to win, especially for a 1st year head coach who had to piece his team together.

I’m not going to spit on WW because I did like what he did here and I think it was complete bullshite how he was treated but it is what it is and we now have another really good coach doing great things in his first season. Great for LSU Mens BB. That’s all that really matters.

Super happy with McMahon so far.

Wade went 16-2 in the SEC and was gearing up for a final four type season this year.

I think McMahon can get us back to that level

Way too early to say this, but there is a lot to be excited for! Coach seems like the real deal.

Not sure about blowout but he does seem like a solid coach based on the team. Throwing up all those threes to start the game seemed a little out of control.

WW cheated in incredibly stupid ways, got caught and fired for it.

Well he came in with ZERO players and
“crooted” this entire team l. So there’s that.

Evidence?

It’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove.

I loved WW and I thought CMM was a good hire. I like/liked both.

This guy can Coach Basketball. He can put together a gameplan and draw up plays that will get baskets when needed. Wade simply Cannot! It really is that simple.

Woodward certainly had enough evidence to 86 him. Nothing else matters at this point does it?

I'm not going to crap on WW, he did do a great job. He adjusted his coaching later on and focused on Defense. I wasn't crazy about his offensive scheme with so many perimeter shots and not getting rebounds. But he got the players that fit his system and the team for this year was going to be real good and fun to watch.

I wish some of those guys would've stayed around. It would've been nice to have them with CMM. Man if CMM keeps LSU 4th or 5th in the SEC, that will be success IMO.

Really? I guess by your metric Will Wade didn’t equal Dale Brown.

It’s a shame Wade had to pay players to compete with the moral leader of college basketball in John Calipari
