wish everyone would stop dissecting every little thing Miles says, and just wait until game day before casting judgment. The best player will play - I believe that. And whichever QB it turns out to be, it will be better than last year - I firmly believe that as well.
100% true.

and after in 2012....
Like his 0 tds- 2ints against ole miss 2 weeks later?
Or his 1 tds 1 int game against Clemson?

Look at who returned on offense.
2 wrs that had 7 tds combined.
A rb that didnt rush for 800 yards.
We lost our best OLineman and the guy we ran behind for 3 years Chris Faulk and Hawkins

But he had good ones.
In 2012, against sec opponents, Mett had 5 tds 4 ints and a compl % below 55.
I agree he showed more promise than Jennings though. Jennings has really given us nothing except a decent deep ball once in a while.

Mett showed flashes of development. Jennings looked bad in game one and looked just as bad in game 13 and every game in between. He never improved.

Yep. I don't know why they try to use Mett's Junior to Season season. Even in that 2012 season Mett flashed elite talent. Jennings has literally not shown much outside of that one Arkansas game.. Mett was brilliant vs Alabama that year and Jennings was 30%.. 30% completion..

Mett showed flashes of development.
Qb A- 12 tds-7 ints 2400 yards
Qb rating of 128.3
Qb b-11 tds- 7 ints 1900 yards
Qb rating of 118.3
Qb A had,by far , the better surrounding cast.
There isnt much difference in yardage production.

Plus A didn't split time, taking away scoring opportunities.

So AJ will be the qb again this year. We hear these same words year in and year out. But the results are the same.

Right. Im not saying Jennings is gonna have or is capable of having a season like Mett did in 2013. Im only saying that recently we've seen qbs take a huge jump in production from year to year.
I agree that Mett had the physical talent to have the 2013 seaso. And we havent seen AJ have the type of game Mett had against Bama in 2012.

Facts prove that 2014 was the outlier season. Lsu has 11 10 win seasons snd Miles has 7 of them.
We have finished in the top 15, 7 of 10 seasons under Miles.

12 page meltdown in March.

Again, Jordan Jefferson DID NOTsuck his entire career at lsu. JJ started a little over 2 years worth of games and ranks in the top 5 of almost all lsu passing records.
He was terrible. Quit comparing him to LSU QBs of different eras. How does he rank against his peers?
LINK
2008:
79th - Hatch
83rd - JLee
92nd - JJ
2009:
38th - JJ
114th - JLee
2010:
91st - JLee
100th - JJ
2011:
19th - JLee
42nd - JJ
When Lee got sufficient playing time, he was a better QB than JJ. And JJs best year, he wasn't even a Top 25 QB

Man there are some pessimistic people around here. Also some that can see the future as well. Folks are already calling the football season before the Sweet Sixteen is played.

But people don't be surprised if McMillan turns out to be the best option next year.

He will drop these subtle hints all spring and summer until the first snap when he will start AJ, as he has planned since last year.
Yep.

scary thoughts this early in the year...man, I just want to watch baseball and forget about football until August, and then August will turn into Disgust if AJ still the starter...

Posted on 3/23/15 at 5:32 am to theBru
How anyone other than Stevie Wonder can compare Mett with AJ is beyond me. All you have to do is watch them both throw the ball a few times. Like I said, no comparison at all...

Assuming it was going to be 2nd best would've been silly but anyone who saw Mett vs Bama knew it very well could get much better. frickING NOTHING about Jennings in '14 made you think that. NOTHING.
Mett didn't get better in 2012 at all, Landry and Beckham stopped dropping so many passes. Watch him again against a mediocre Clemson defense. He played as bad as Jennings in the Iowa game and he was a true freshman.
People were doing the same thing that offseason that they are doing now. I was trying to convince people that the passing game would be better.
We won't truly know if Jennings has gotten better until we see it this season. No spring game will tell the tape because plenty players grow in the summer as well. Thing is I can't see him staying the same or getting worse. He is now three years into the system, with a year's worth of game film to dissect. He has true SEC starting experience. He has 4 receivers with a year's worth of experience on them now as well. They seem to know what a TE is now, hell even DJ Chark is lighting it up. We have four RBs with nice to receiver level hands out of the backfield, and three of them are very explosive.
I just refuse to believe we don't improve, and I wouldn't be shocked if we improved a great deal.
I mean we recruited 4 WRs and a receiving TE last year, 5 WRs, an H-back, and a receiving TE this year, and so far two 6'4 WRs and a receiving TE this year. We obviously really want to throw the ball and it is shown with the ridiculous amount of pass catching weapons we are trying to obtain.

but what if he regresses? I think that's what is on a lot of peoples minds.
Well he'd have to go blind and crippled to play worse than he did last year. I mean he has everything coming back, OC, QB coach, 3/5 OL, starting RB, top 4 WR and TE that he threw to a good bit in the final game. In addition, he got a year of game experience.
I can really see no way that he regresses from last year, I mean seriously.

I did... Look at who returned on offense... Mett showed real signs of being a top notch QB during the Bama game and after in 2012...... You are wrong here....
I am going to take my time and look up threads this week for that offseason because y'all mofos are lying.
