Les Miles and his staff have sabotaged Harris. They set him up for failure last season by not allowing enough game time experience before throwing him to the wolves in auburn. And even in that game Harris was better than Anthony Jordan Jefferson Jr.
We needed another intelligent football mind to post on this board, thanks for signing up!!

I'd rather LSU ran that offense than try to run the pro style if he's going to be the guy.
agreed

but I do know that if it is indeed Jennings, he will play better than last year.
he was the worst QB in the SEC, one would hope he would play better than last year
but what if he regresses? I think that's what is on a lot of peoples minds.

I do agree with this. but why put him on the field at all if he was injured? seems pretty silly IMO
What is says to me us that they desperately want him on the field. Or they were trying to sabotage him again.... take your pick.
You don't rush a player back from injury without a damn good reason. If that is, indeed what happened.

that stat is so disappointing honestly.

and tell me you don't get mad thinking about 10 wide open yards and AJ throwing into coverage in OT against Bama.
Oh, Jennings did plenty to piss me off. Yet I remain of the opinion that if neither QB separates himself, I want to roll with the one that's already taken his lumps.
Even if Harris is obviously the better player, and wins the job, I think Jennings will see plenty of P/T early in the season to manage the growing pains.

This was in reference to a comparison between Mettenberger and Jennings. If you can't see the differences between the two, I don't know what to tell you.

If you think a layman can ascertain the potential of a collegiate QB based on 14 hours of film, I don't know what to tell you.

We might as well not even pay attention to anything Miles says about the quarterbacks. We'll see for ourselves come the spring game.

Miles said Jennings was “pretty crisp with his passes,” noting the junior tossed a couple of touchdown throws.
All I get out of this is that, now I am worried about our defense

Harris needs to prove himself.
Why doesn't Jennings?
I hate the .mindset that Jennings has somehow proved himself. All he has proven this far is he is not ready for the big time.

Again, Jordan Jefferson DID NOTsuck his entire career at lsu. JJ started a little over 2 years worth of games and ranks in the top 5 of almost all lsu passing records.
JORDAN JEFFERSON'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT A TOP 15 ALL TIME PROGRAM
.. In 2009, was the youngest starting quarterback in the SEC and the youngest to start a season-opener for LSU since Y.A. Tittle in 1945 ... Ranks fifth for career wins by a starting quarterback at LSU with 24 ... Tied for fifth in LSU history for career TD passes with 34, equaling Jamie Howard (1992-95) ... Is sixth in LSU history in career passing yards (4,733), sixth in completion percentage (58.7), sixth in career completions (398) and sixth in attempts (678) ... Accounted for 46 TDs during his career - 34 passing, 12 rushing ... Rushed for 1,018 yards and 12 touchdowns during his LSU career ... The 1,018 rushing yards ranks first among quarterbacks in school history and the 12 rushing TDs is fifth by a QB ... Holds the LSU single-season rushing record for a quarterback with 450 yards during the 2010 season.

quote:He had time coming in with only one guy last season, and that was Dural. He actually did ok with Dural, but most of those were deep routes.
Yeah but the question is will Jenning be better?
He seems to have the physical ability to be better but what about the mental and the chemistry with the wide receivers?
Based on last year Jennings struggled with mental processing and or chemistry with his WRs. Specifically he was late A LOT of the times with his throws. I hope he can fix that.
Question will be- can he link up with someone over the middle (Quinn, Dupre maybe) this season, with the same rhythm he had finding Dural deep?
quote:Having spent time with the returning guys for a year now, I think he will be more aware of where they will be.
The mental part of his game and WR chemistry is what I'm most concerned with.

already clarified by saying no I didn't expect to see the historic numbers we put up, but the way we moved the ball and scored more often, based on specific performances by select positions in real games that we all saw the year before, did not surprise me. We've had this chat. Try reading.
No shite we've had this chat before and it was bullshite then too. If you want to say that Mett showed the physical talent to be good then ok , but even after the bama game Mett had bad games.
In 2012 Mett had 6 games where he threw as many or more ints than TDS. He also had 3 games with compl % lower than 49% and 6 games with a comp % lower than 60.
You could see Mett had the physical tools before he even stepped on the field.

I can't really say that Jennings looked great in ANY game.
Well, if you are going to throw in NMS, we might as well throw in Sam Hous. St. where Jennings accounted for like 250 total yds., 3 TD, with no ints., and no sacks. Or Wis. where Jennings accounted for 260 yds, 2 TDs, no ints., and made several big plays in helping us come back from being down 17. Or A&M when he ran and threw for like 240 yds. with 1 TD and 1 int.
Look, I have nothing against Harris. He seems to a talented kid with potential. I just don't see one of the guys as being special and one sucking. I hope one makes the job his.

Anyone that says after 2012 they expected the 2013 offense is fricking lying. Nothing in 2012 led anyone to believe we would have the 2nd best offense in lsu history in 2013.
I did... Look at who returned on offense... Mett showed real signs of being a top notch QB during the Bama game and after in 2012...... You are wrong here....

But he had good ones. That's my point. Haven't seen Jennings have any of those.
