The guy was a teenager when he started for LSU last season, but he "reached his ceiling" as a true So.? Damn, but we can be a tough crowd.

It's about tools.

If you saw a 19 year old pitcher whose best fastball was 75mph, you would be 100% correct to say that kid will NEVER be a flamethrower.

AJ is the QB equivalent.

That might be true, but it doesn't mean he cant be an effective pitcher.

I recall that JL had many saying the same type things bout him after his 1st yr. starting at LSU as well.

If Jennings had sucked in each game last season, the hit a ceiling might be correct. He didn't. He had games in which he was pretty effective.

He might have hit his ceiling and he might not. I'm pretty sure we don't have anyone posting here who can see the future or they wouldn't be posting here.

Jeebus you frickers will say the stupidest shi.

Mett was inconsistent as frick in 2012. Yes.

He also threw for better than 60% completions 6 times in 2012. A feat Jennings has achieved precisely once.

Right, because Mett was erratic in 2012, but still threw for 2,600 yards. He showed lots of talent, but made some questionable decisions.

Jennings does not have that talent and some people refuse to admit that Jennings talent level is not par with an FBS QB. The only way he will be successful is with a scaled down offense that features the running game or a hell of a lot of trickery.

He is now three years into the system, with a year's worth of game film to dissect.

But is he smart enough to do this????? Serious....

Mett didn't get better in 2012 at all

frick you... His game against Bama was awesome.. Coaching lost that game....

I mean we recruited 4 WRs and a receiving TE last year, 5 WRs, an H-back, and a receiving TE this year, and so far two 6'4 WRs and a receiving TE this year

That's great... Now if we can just get a qb to run a gameplan and take advantadge of these weapons.

I didn't expect a big leap from the end of last season to saturday's scrimmage or anything, but Jennings looked pretty much the same.

well that is depressing

Cmon. His BEST game was bad. It only looked decent in comparison to him.

I wouldn't go that far. Is he the most talented? No but his biggest problem is his accuracy & confidence. He gets rattled entirely too easily & looks extremely nervous in the pocket often. His issues seem more mental than anything else. I wouldn't be so quick to write him off because growth & experience can help with those problems but it also guarantees nothing at all. He needs to be more relaxed on the field because he seemed completely wound too tightly last season.

jennings didn't throw a single TD for 4 straight games

Jennings has the talent to lead the team. he is not extremely talented as some would like at qb. if the wrs progress then Jennings will look a lot better. mett is more talented than aj but mett had his best year with 2 nfl wrs and a nfl tailback . aj had nothing similar to that last year.

So what you're saying is on average we can expect AJ to have the following stats against SEC teams:

ATT: 20
COMP: 9
COMP %: 49%
YDS: 110
TD: 1
INT: 1

My money is on Jennings starting the season.

Brandon would really have to be either worse than AJ not to be able to see the field/move ahead of Jennings or he's deep inside Miles' dog house for some reason.

idk why some people keep saying this

the kid didn't start as a true freshman and he could possibly be in the dog house?

but he did.

People just think Les Miles Sabotaged him by starting against Auburn..

Not like the previous two games made it look like the obvious choice or anything.

The same idiots were celebrating when Miles announced Harris would start. When he didn't play well, the same morons blamed it on Miles for "sabotaging Harris".
