Dude redshirted where else would they put him on the field besides running the scout team. Also I would think the scout team lines up against the first teams so he probably got more snaps than Nuss running the other teams plays. Sounds like the hosts were just trying to create drama.

I still have a feeling Daniels is gone after the bowl game. His draft grade will make the difference but I think he goes pro. It’s looking like he could be the 5th or 6th QB taken. That’s most likely as high as he will go unless he has a Birrow-esq year and I don’t see that happening. Some team will take a shot on him being another Lamar Jackson with his legs and use a 3rd or 4th round pick on him. As much as I love Nuss he may hold Walker off initially for playing time but he won’t be able to keep him on the bench long unless he plays lights out.

The goal was to redshirt this year to recover from an injury in HS and grow a little more. And then next year compete for the #2 and maybe even #1 spot depending on how the QB room shakes out and how he does in the offseason.

And then Mike over here goes "Walker doesn't want to be on the scout team next year!" like it's some concerning news. Well no shite Mike, that was always the plan

LSU and the QB position is always fun

In this day in age of the transfer portal. We shouldn't expect to hold a loaded QB room. If they leave wish them the best and move on. It is always going to be multiple QBs in the Portal that are highly rated and teams want. Alabama will have the same issue also soon. It is only 1 position for QB I know all them want to play and understand if they leave. Right now we have currently Daniels, Nuss, and Walker with Collins coming in. After that we have the QB coming in from florida. Even if Daniels leave this year everyone I just mentioned want stay at LSU.

If you're a legit 5-star QB talent, you should be pushing for a starting job your 1st year. If you're not #2, there is a problem (either with the team/coaches/scheme or the projected talent level).

This isn't 1994 anymore

When Walker signed with LSU, he probably thought Myles Brennan was going to be the quarterback and next year it was going to be between Nuss and himself not knowing Daniels might be the starter again next year.
