They are different players. Dessert is more limited, but you will need his defense and rebounding. Let’s not minimize him.

Yup but Dessert gets going and this team is dangerous with these two 7 footers

I’d like to see them both continue to progress. We can use them both

Unfortunately he’s still at UF. Will be fun to watch him and Ruzic go at it.

Agreed. I hope Dessert gets it going. Imagine the problems that teams would have matching up against two seven footers with such diverse styles of play. I am just surprised at how far behind Dessert is right now. That doesn't mean that I don't hope that he gets there.

Not to sidetrack the thread but Pearson must be really bad.

A couple of the dudes are bodies in case we had the worst case scenario with the cases.

He mentioned that Ruzic's game is a bit easier to transition to college MBB than Dessert. Paraphrasing of course, but that was the gist. That's Wade, I'm not opining, but Wade knows the team and players better than us.

That's because ruzic is good at every aspect of basketball. Dessert is an old school player. He is also overweight.

Dessert got sub'd out with 14:44 to go in 2nd half and never came back in, that is telling

Dessert looked much better after he came back in. Maybe he needs to come off the bench anyways. Because he was terrible the first 7 minutes he was is. He looked lazy/loafing out there. Getting out rebounded by players a foot shorter.

I disagree with this. We'll see what Wade says.

Wade may have guaranteed a starting position for Dessert in recruiting him. Once the physicality in competition ramps up, Dessert will be invaluable.

Starting is a little overrated with this rotation. That being said, allowing Dessert to start and eat up some minutes (and fouls) early is beneficial. Keeps Ruzic fresh down the stretch and keeps him from picking up fouls.

Think Dessert will continue to start but Ruzic will get the bulk of the minutes.

ETA. Dessert has to slow down. The game is moving 100 MPH for him right now. Hopefully it’ll slow down for him.

I meannit should be obvious wade was pissed at the way he was playing (which was awful) and benched him for rest of game. Its not like he was hurt or in foul trouble, Wade was just not happy with the way he was playing at all. With 8 guys in our rotation you dont bench a guy for the last 15 minutes of a game to not try and send a message

I dunno if dessert is gonna start when heavy competition starts cause we don’t know if he’s starting cause of the heavy minutes ruzic played during exhibition and wade did mention he was trying to catch some ppl up. Thats why im saying it it could
still be uncertain and ruzic may be the starter in a couple games

Dessert kept being late setting screens at the top of the key while the guards were trying to set up the offense.

Wade took him out because he gave up a three because he didn't close out well. I saw him on the sidelines hollar out and immediately subbed in Ruzic. He went back in late in the 2nd half and once again dropped an entry pass.

Wade said in the post game that Dessert is a great player who isn't playing to his potential. He also said that Dessert is trying to make plays before catching the ball. Coach will get him there. I believe.

Hes not made for this kind of basketball we've been playing

Half court center eho needs to be banging up against other 7 footers basically. Wade basically said as much in his presser

I would think Dessert may start, but Ruzic will get more PT and most likely be in your closing lineup to finish a game.

Similar to the way he used Tari..
