What I take from this is the new OC uses the QB as an asset in the running game.
Nussmaier needs to gain weight, but he's fast. Walker can run some as well. Max isn't totally immobile, but he isn't exactly fast.
I think he realized he didn't fit the scheme and he was going to be a backup next year. Since he's probably out for the bowl game anyway, might as well get in the portal now.

The timing is a big F U to the home team.....If it is because he got wind of a better transfer coming in then we suck in the bowl and move on....If it is because he got wind of the OC and thinks he sucks then we have problems

I don't see any way him & his daddy could really believe that he could transfer to another legit p5 school & be “Guaranteed” to be the starter & from his play at LSU its highly unlikely that he will beat out an established starter at an SEC/B1G/B12/Pac10 type program either!

Umm yeah. Verified 4.6 range in the 40. True Dual Threat. Just needs some weight for durability.
Best comp for Howard is Matt Corral. Very similar QB's in regards to size and skill set.

Max isn’t a very good running QB imo. Better than Myles? … sure, but that’s not saying much.

This was rumored for weeks now. Max requires off-season surgery so it’s tough for me to say he’s a quitter. He’s been playing hurt for a while.
Will be interesting to see where he ends up. Is he going to be a package deal with his brother? He could go anywhere he wants. Max not so much.

Good point about the brother. If I was a TE I couldn’t imagine wanting to play for someone other than BK.

Where was this news published?
I know football players almost routinely have surgery during the offseason. But, I've heard nothing to say he was not going to be able to play in the bowl game.

It does seem like ND has sent a lot of TEs to the NFL recently.
Too lazy to look it up but ND, Stanford & Wisconsin seem like TEU to me for some reason.
