I know we all hate Mascona, but I stumbled upon this while drinking my morning coffee. Don’t really disagree with what he said. We really need Floyd or whoever to put together a really good game 2 in Omaha. If we can win that I think our chances at a natty skyrocket.

The bad pitching will catch up at some point, it’s only a matter of time we still have the same issues we had at the beginning of the year. Hope I’m wrong and we got enough offense to get the job done but you can only hope to be bailed out so many times. We have to limit the dumb mistakes also bad base running, bad fielding etc also that may catch us too at some point.

So does everyone else though. The difference is that LSU is good enough to win when they don’t play their best. Everyone else has to play their absolute best possible scenario AND LSU has to not play well at all to beat them.
And they’ll likely have to do that twice.

A lot of truth to what he is saying but two things to consider: 1) He is an LSU Fan. 2) Kentucky struggled to score against Vandy and coming in Bama was near the Bottom in hitting in SEC Games. Yes, no one has taken an SEC Series from us and we can smash the ball like nobody's business but there should be some concern about pitching, mainly the Pen.

Most of the time I don't. I get that he has a smug "gatekeeper"-type attitude about him and it puts some people off--does me too sometimes--but by and large he's got good takes and I appreciate his passion for LSU sports. He's a homer, but he keeps it real.

You’re kidding right? Bama leads the conference in batting average in conference only stats. 
ETA: I realize the list is alphabetical and you have to combine the right handed and left handed stats, but the point still stands. They’re not a bad hitting team like you’re implying. They’re third in the league in overall BA for all games including OOC.

His fake laugh is annoying as frick, he is the world’s biggest jock sniffer with clowns like RC, and his “humor” is not funny in any way. That stupid opening that he does everyday with the cast theme songs really needs to be changed- the Barbie song for that one guy was absolutely played out two years ago…does he still think that’s funny? A good example of his tired act

Moscona is fine in my book. Each of these Baton Rouge sports talk guys have their own unique style which you must cultivate to develop a following. The content is relevant and the challenge is trying to create content when there’s a lull in LSU news. If you listen to sports shows coming out of other parts of the country there are plenty that will make your ears bleed.
Re: the Cowherd comparison made earlier in this thread, Cowherd deliberately takes the contrarian view just to stimulate clicks and comments. The local guys may suggest the not so popular take but not to the extent Cowherd or Skip Bayless does just to get under people’s skin.

People who don't like MM will dislike and disagree with this take just because it is him saying it but at the end of the day nothing Matt said is wrong and people who know baseball get that. A lot of posters on here need it to be said in the way he did because some posters on here have terrible takes and no understanding of the sport, just look at the threads on games we win, whole lot of complaining and we're the consensus #1.
