The campaign orchestrated to make him the “logical choice” was amazing. Cultural fit, Saban protege and so on. Many posters here participated.

Credit to the LSU administration for not falling for it. The LSU of the past would have taken the bait

UF has Mizzou and FSU left. They will be lucky to make bowl eligibility.

“But, but, but he can still recruit better than BK.”

I was one of the loudest anti-Napier-stans here. It was the perfect "sentimental" option that has historically kept LSU in mediocrity.

It wreaked of corrupt Louisiana politics.I

Dude he got to UF after they were freaking DEPLETED.

Also, they are kicking our arse in recruiting for this year's class.

This is a very short term flex. Without JD5, where are we? He didn't get a JD5 and had way less talent than we did. I don't have any love for the guy, but if I'm a UF fan reading this, I'm laughing. Look at how ED o had to get things going.
2025, UF is on a trajectory better than ours right now. He just needs to learn to work the portal better in the mean time.

Daniels won, BK won and LSU won. He’s eating shite from every angle. It’s beautiful to watch

I’m not sure if it’s NIL or something else, but LSU has gone from battling for top 5 classes to fighting for a top 10 class. We are underperforming in state, which hasn’t happened since the early 90’s.

The staff needs to do better.

Coming on the heels of O being that very kind of hire changed things. And there are still plenty of us who remember how it went elevating Curley Hallman from lower-tier success. So glad he was never even seriously considered.

Billy Napier (and Rob Sale) are where they are not because of some ULL miracle work. They are there (and made it to ULL) because they pulled off the Cam Robinson Monroe heist. He’s a fraud, he’s still the incompetent Clemson fired.

Pump your brakes... BK should pay Jayden at least 3 million of his salary this season. This team would be worst than Florida's team without him.

So was LSU when we hired Kelly.
One won the SECw his first year, is 2-0 vs the other. And the other is now I believe a game under .500

They’ve signed 8 of the top 10 players in the state. They just have to lock down the big ones that are willing to come.

But it was also a down year for LA talent, overall. If the staff does this well locking down LA over the next two seasons with the talent in those classes, we will be a top 5 lock.
