I don’t see where we disagree so I’m not sure why you are so angry?

I’m simply pointing out that we have slipped in recruiting in recent seasons, which is measurably and factually true. I never said we can’t get better or that Kelly wasn’t any good. I think it boils down to NIL.

I think Florida has a good coach.

True. Kelly will definitely be losing some sleep over a kicker's thoughts of his "coolness." Probably an area he needs to work on to get the best kickers. Oh wait, LSU has the #1 kicker in the country already committed for this class.

So your son is an idiot then. I’d rather play for the better coach. Don’t care how “uncool” he is.

My point is that it all boils down to one side of the ball right now, in-state and out. It’s a much simpler problem than you seem willing to accept. It isn’t just all NIL. The uncertainty of the defensive staff and lack of development (which was specifically cited by Evans when he flipped to UGA) are major issues. Fix them and the rest will improve.

Seriously. The only thing cool about Nick Saban and Kirby Smart are their rings.

how would you describe the 39 man roster that was at LSU when Kelly arrived?

I agree mostly. I see a gap at WR next year (talent is there) and QB the year after. But OL and TE recruiting has been better than ever. Lots of potential at RB too.

Defensive recruiting has been mediocre. Thankfully he’s been great in the portal, but that only gets you so far.

What’s super bad is that unless I’m mistaken, he was never a candidate.

All the push was manufactured

He is, lol.

Billy was super nice and extremely complementary of my son…that was the first SEC head coach’s office we were invited into and Billy was very smooth with the information his staff had dug up on us. It was really nice. They put my son through the ringer that day and every coach’s feedback to him was glowing. Billy could watch my son putting them through the back of the endzone on kickoffs from his office. He wasn’t sitting at his desk, he met us at the door and gave my son a huge handshake…

Florida’s facilities are very nice. That would be a cool place to kick at.

No…it was a “I’d like to offer you a scholarship to kick footballs for us, but…” He has offers from Ole Miss and Arkansas, committed to the latter…but he just finished his Jr season.

He’ll get more offers.

Also, they are kicking our arse in recruiting for this year's class.

This is a very short term flex. Without JD5, where are we? He didn't get a JD5 and had way less talent than we did. I don't have any love for the guy, but if I'm a UF fan reading this, I'm laughing. Look at how ED o had to get things going.
2025, UF is on a trajectory better than ours right now. He just needs to learn to work the portal better in the mean time.

DEPLETED? You do realize that Orgeron, his girlfriends and their kids left LSU with 40% of a full 85 scholarship squad right? LSU still doesn't have a full 85 after a ton of transfers trying to piece together Ed O's mid life crisis.

Hope so. His "cool coach" at Arkansas won't be there next year.

Scott Fountain will have a job…somewhere. He’s been the coordinator at Georgia, Auburn, State, Ark…

My son can’t sign for another year and a month. Who knows what will happen?

LSU’s kicker situation is unfortunate.
