They didn’t wear purple jerseys against Tech so the “rules” that are dictated on here are flawed.

No. The old "rules" were White for first home game no matter the opponent. White for SEC games. White for major OOC home games with national interest. Purple for other OOC home games.

LaTech was the first home game so traditionally it would have been white.

Having said that, I did like the gold helmets from the Arkansas game.

GOD no! you mean from 2009? terrible.

the normal gold and the white are nice. no purple or sparkling gold.

The only alternate uniforms WAF are the all white and the W-P-W. The all white we wore against Auburn 2011 nike pro combat were very nice.

but BOTH of those should be kept to a bare minimum. we need to be wearing classic

G-W-G
G-P-G

letting players determine tradition or ruin it is dumb. Is bama wearing all these alts? Texas? all i see for both of them is their two classic uniforms.

Gotta be Gold Purple Gold

Southeastern only has white helmets, we wont bring white helmets out against them.

Doesn’t LSU instagram account post what jerseys are going to be worn? Or is it the X account?

loves the G-P-G as much as the G-W-G

the only acceptable uniforms, imo.

Bama and Texas got boring arse uniforms

Why do we always bring up these schools when comparing uniforms? We arent Bama. We arent Texas. We are LSU, and LSU can have alternate uniforms.

Nope. SLU announced that they are wearing green jerseys. This is a change.
If we have to deviate from our regular uniform, I would rather it be for a game like this.

White-purple-white and the "all white" look are also just fine.

But for Southeastern, they're wearing their colors, so LSU will probably go traditional G-W-G Saturday night.

I like the All-Caucasian, (White) uniform too, but they have to fix the fricking helmet and pants stripe to match the jersey shoulder stripes.

Why? They don’t match in GWG either. And they haven’t in a very long time.

Not with me. I like the instant identification with the gold helmet and pants.

There is another possibility for this game, which would be entirely in conformity with our tradition of wearing colors for nonconference games other than the first, as well as being contrasting colors to Southeastern:

LSU comes out onto the field in gold helmets, gold jerseys, and gold pants-- visualize an "all gold" look. Strangely enough, that happened TWICE back in 1959--@ Kentucky and @ Florida. LSU won both those games by the identical score of 9-0.

To the OP, it looks like that is unlikely.

In the late 80's or maybe 90's, the team wore gold-gold-purple. I think the numbers on the jersey were purple and for some reason didn't show up very well on the gold jerseys. You could barely see the numbers. It was an ugly jersey.

LSU likely will wear traditional uniform or gold helmets with white jersey/pant.

I agree, but we've been overusing them the last few years

Unless you can show a photo as proof, this never happened.

We've only worn purple pants once, in a loss against Kentucky in 1995. We've worn gold jerseys a few more times, but NEVER with purple pants.

I think they should try the purple pants again. I know most think it can only be associated with an upset loss to Kentucky back in the 90’s, but that was a long time ago.
