LSU is the center of College Athletics and I love it

While I agree we need clear lines between pro and college ball….we don’t right now.
And it’s so much fun as an LSU fan when every Sports Media Show in America has a segment on LSU everyday, not just football.

Every single player in the country (and some foreigners) is going to have LSU on their radar. The future is bright.

We have the most entertaining Athletic Department in Sports.
Lane, Mulkey, Wade, Jay.
We have Sports Illustrated Models, Cy Young Winners, Heisman Drama, High Profile Legal Cases, Players coming in from Russia….Players coming from the NFL. It’s crazy

With the football situation I can agree. I don’t know that I agree that this applies to the RJ Luis situation.

We are just one step above Texas Tech in scum factor.

I just went to ESPN's college football homepage and it is filled with complaints about LSU's recent moves. What a crazy time it is for college football

Yet the SEC Rant keeps telling me Louisiana and LSU are complete shite holes that nobody wants. The facts speak for themselves - the LSU brand has exploded exponentially over the past decade.

It’s kinda funny how Texas is over doing this type of thing first but as soon as we do something we make the media cry.
The Texas oline man was barely a blip on the radar of even the most intune college sports fan. LSU signs two former ole Miss guys and we are bullying their arse again

LSU is currently part of four different stories on top of ESPN in three different sports.

You know what's funny?
There's a defensive back from South Carolina in this portal.
South Carolina signed a defensive back from this portal.
He's not the guy they signed.
It's open season, you view it as a business and upgrade if you can. There's no charity or loyalty to this, and it's not just LSU doing things.

I’m an LSU fan, but this feels like a bridge too far. Bringing in players who have signed NFL contracts could trigger NCAA or SEC investigations, ineligibility, vacated wins, fines, roster restrictions, or postseason penalties, potentially jeopardizing LSU’s CFP hopes. Is it worth risking the season, the program’s reputation, and a playoff berth?

First, you sound like a pussy. Second, there’s precedent now with Chambliss ruling and others and the “5 for 5” ruling for those players who moved on before the ruling came out.
SEC and NCAA can’t retroactively make new rules going against what’s currently happening with their f*cked up system because they don’t like the fact that LSU is the one doing it.
Grow a pair. We’re pioneering this new BS age of college athletics aka new age minor leagues

I don't think this is going to create problems.
Football- Texas brought back a player a month ago that had been in an NFL camp. As I stated, South Carolina just brought in a player. They needed corners more than safeties, so they left their own guy (a safety with starting experience in the SEC) in the portal, and signed a corner from App State instead.
It's a weird, one-time situation. You have guys with renewed eligibility, and a very small window to land a spot. LSU is offering them.
The conference is not going to ban individual players, not on the basis that they were in NFL camps (the court ruling prevents that), but on the basis that they were on a different SEC school than the one they landed in.
If the SEC tries to play that game, they will 100% state they would have entered the portal earlier, if they had been given the chance. There's no way to argue otherwise.
And apparently you can't force the schools to take them back either... South Carolina chose not to resign DQ Smith, who started 45 games for them at safety. Weylin Lapuaho started 3 years at BYU and was All Big 12 last year, they said their roster is full. Those two are still looking for spots to land in, and would have been big portal acquisitions (or simply returning starters) if the NCAA had ruled in a timely manner.
As I understand from someone on this board, we (LSU) has one open roster spot left. I assume we take one more guy, because why the frick not? If you can land a proven capable player, your job is to win, so you take him.

The outrage feigned by the media is laughable.
LSU's roster cost is in the fifty million dollar range. What the hell does that make their team?
Sam Leavitt and Joran Seaton are getting paid millions of dollars to play for LSU this season. Are we seriously going to pretend that they are amateur athletes? Are we seriously going to argue that those two are student athletes?
Greg Sankey, SEC Presidents and Chancellors, and the entire national media can go **** themselves.
NCAA football is a professional sport.

Actually it will do none of that. Alabama is the precedent for this with what Nate oats did with bieako. He played him because he had an injunction and was eligible, then he was ruled ineligible and bama didn’t lose the games he played, they weren’t fined.
So no we aren’t losing anything by playing players that are ruled eligible by the court and allowed to play.

I’m not saying LSU is currently breaking the rules. The SEC commissioner has already put out a statement on this. Yes, the rules are vague and hazy, but if the NCAA and SEC allow players cut from NFL teams to simply return to college, it opens the floodgates. They’re going to have to draw a line somewhere, and I don’t want LSU to be the school they make an example of. I’m just saying it’s not worth the risk with a CFP run on the line

Take a breath my man. They can’t make an example out of LSU. We are a flagship school for the conference. They could only do that in the past because of fat liberal Scott

just out of curiosity, what, in your opinion, is making LSU scum here? for the record, no rules have been broken in this process.
now, if you want to call LSU scum because we've paid players under the table for decades, sure, go for it. but what's happening right now, why are we scum?
