Why not? A&M games have almost zero piped in music, very few obtrusive ads, etc. Their concessions prices are cheaper with higher quality food. They have refillable sodas and free water fountains accessible near every bathroom. If a fellow SEC program can have that experience, why can’t we?

Absolutely incorrect. LSU’s northern border is where this stems from. We are not surrounded, not even close. South and east of campus is still some of the nicest areas you’ll ever see.
Have you driven down Brightside Dr. recently? It's not as idyllic as you might think
There have been multiple shootings in the last few years

Which civil rights are you opposed to?
Let me see if I can explain this to you.
The term "civil rights" is itself like "racism", abused until it means virtually the opposite of what it was intended to mean. Is it a "civil right" to turn public gatherings into brawls? Is it a "civil right" to knock down an elderly person
"Mah civil rights are being violated, y'all are racists", because someone is told that they will have to wait, other people were in line first".
I oppose a "civil right" when it is created by people who deny it to others, when you do that, do not expect your "rights" to be respected.
That is the short answer, we have become a low trust society because a segment of our population has no impulse control and thinks all pubic areas open to unacceptable behavior. I can't separate the good from the evil, so as I get older, I try to stay where they are not. Close members of my family have been murdered, enough is enough.

aTm has a ton of money and in an enclosed college town. No comparison. Also, as someone who goes to College Station yearly to Santa Wonderland and each time LSU plays there, they do have piped in music.

I think we gotta do better than comparing running out of ice with getting shot.

Yeah, I lived on Brightside View when I went to LSU in the mid to upper 80's. Great place to live at the time.
I checked it out a couple of years ago and it looks terrible. Old broken down cars everywhere.
It is pathetic that BR doesn't do something to at least keep LSU a good part of town.

Maybe the city should stop greenlighting every new development in that area. These places are built quickly and cheaply. In 30 years, they'll be uninhabitable for anyone paying out of pocket. No new apartment complexes until old ones are torn down.

This page contains email addresses for most of the LSU Board of Supervisors. Take a quick minute to let them know this is a problem that they can, and need to fix.

There were bad neighborhoods around Maxwell Air Force Base so the Air Force bought the land and bulldozed the neighborhood to make a buffer zone. Can LSU do the same?
government can claim eminent domain and bulldoze everything north of aster street to I-10.

There are too many legitimate LSU fans that go tailgate and then either leave to watch the game or watch at the tailgate. You can't exclude these people just because they don't have a ticket. How about the police and security just do their job and arrest or get rid of anyone causing an issue.

The Board of Regents Commissioner of Higher Education (former Obama appointee) has prioritized recruitment of “all races other than White and Asian” in the Governor's Executive Budget for the past five years. This objective has driven admissions "standards". What you see on LSU's campus now was/is by design.
She became commissioner of the Board of Regents during the Bel Edwards years and is still there under Landry.

pays a DJ to play over the LSU band
Brought my young son to his first game a couple of years ago and talked up the band and my memories of hearing them play throughout football games as a kid. He left thinking the bank was there only for pregame and shortened halftime performances.

Try venturing anywhere north of where Kirby Smith used to be after a game. It looks like you have entered 3rd world Somalia. After seeing what I saw Saturday, I would not send my kids to LSU. LSU needs to get a grip on this situation or you will see a dramatic change in the quality of our University and students. It is out of control. Fat asses and boobs hanging out, weed smell, language, pants around the knees with boxers hanging out....pitiful!

My brother in Christ. Look around......Have you been to Mardi Gras in person lately?
I would bet that you live in the middle part of Louisiana (the forest). Or you live in Northern Louisiana (excluding Shreveport). There's no way you live in Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge or New Orleans and don't see that African American Rap culture is replacing traditional Louisiana Cajun culture. How have you not noticed even when accordion centric music is played now it isn't traditional Cajun music. It's Zydeco.

LSU brass is very aware of the situation and it will get addressed
Unfortunate that it’s come to this as it may affect tailgating for actual civilized folks

Close members of my family have been murdered, enough is enough.
[/quote]
I'm sorry about the close members of your family who have been murdered. No one should have to deal with this. I have a niece who was nearly killed and left permanently maimed as a result of an ex-boyfriend trying to kill her. That was a difficult enough time for our family; it would have been so much worse if she had died. Probably a different situation for you, though it can in no way be easy.
The fact that people misuse a term does not change what it is. If we let it, we have lost. This is how we are convinced to hand over our freedoms for so-called safety.
This is the argument that the BLM crowd makes for disrespecting everything traditional about America. It is a poor argument made from either side.
That segment of society got where they are because they had low trust and allowed themselves to be herded into the mentality they have today. It is certainly a cultural problem, and it is primarily the same folks. It is a sad state of affairs.
I do not think that is an unwise approach. I have become somewhat hermitish in my old age as well. But I still work and go to church, so I have enough interaction to not allow my perspective to be clouded by those negative interactions, though.
As I have stated earlier, my concern is that we let ourselves be manipulated into surrendering rights for safety and comfort a little at a time until we suddenly realize we really have few or none anymore.
