Looking forward to the season, but man, I would love it if they could get around to updating the roster. I know we'll have a few more players, but I would also like to see what the guys look like.

nope,

there are talks of forfeiting the season but they will first go to band practice to make sure there are no tuba players available.

Still almost a month from classes starting (Aug 24) and well over a month before the last day to enroll (Sept 2).

I would expect all but Luis to be good to go. Given that he is in BR and working out at the facility, I would imagine LSU will be all in on playing it out in the courtroom.

I've heard rumors that they are kicking the tires on some 2027 guys to reclassify.

Fun but managable out of conference schedule. Gonzaga and Houston will obviously be extremely tough but having UCF, Wake, High Point, ULL and Washington St at home will be pretty fun. SEC schedule as usual is brutal but thats what happens when 12-14 of the sec teams are tournament hopefuls with probably 6 of them expecting deep runs

I’m confused I counted 35 game regular season. I don’t follow basketball closely but it seems teams always played 31 game seasons in recent years. We played 13 OOC and 18 SEC games last year, now 17 OOC games on the schedule

Suppose there was a cap in the past since everyone played 31 games, do rules allow for more regular season games now?

ETA I’m right. There was a cap of 31 games prior to this season that’s now increased to 32. The McNeese, UCF and Florida St games are just exhibitions to start the season

It’s just an extra warm up game, doesn’t count for anything.

This year’s schedule gets an October start for the first time thanks to a new NCAA rule that allows teams to play three exhibition games against Division I opponents. The Tigers will travel to Lake Charles to play McNeese, where Coach Wade was the head coach for two seasons, on Oct. 8. LSU will be at home on Oct. 14 to face UCF, and then will travel to Tallahassee to meet Florida State on Oct. 24.

OP

Since LSU did not do it, adjust the original post to reflect the first 3 games are exhibition games.

The regular season starts on 11/3 vs the school formerly known as UNO

It looks like the NCAA may have changed one of the dumbest rules in the sport and the former "secret scrimmages" can know be identified and presented to the public
