Im not buying anything out of the portal anymore until I see them play sec competition. Love JJ but between this and football im tired of getting my hopes up for nothing.

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. You aren't going to see starting SEC shortstops in the portal very often. This guy is already a plus defender and hits for power, He fills a need and has the potential to be a very good player for LSU. Thats about all you can ask for out of the portal

Every projection I have seen on this guy is he will be a top 40 pick in the 2027 MLB draft. It is not every day you get a chance to take a top 50 projected draft pick. I trust CJJ here.
It also has to be mentioned that many people are sour on the portal players due to how the ones we brought in this season performed. Each and every one of them are completely forgetting the fact that we had this guy commit last night before the Super Regionals started. There are currently 16 teams behind the 8 ball not able to contact or sign any of these players. We were one of those 16 teams last season and ended up being the last one able to sign potential transfers. Let the man COOK.

I just feel that you put Ruckert at Texas State he could do as well. Especially if you let him strikeout damn near 30% of his at bats.
