Hodge seems to be leaning pro now.

That's unfortunate; how do you figure he's leaning pro at this point?

Also, do we know which signees, if any, are already on campus? I recall Curiel and Schmidt already being on campus last year.

This was a good podcast. He seems moderately confident LSU lands all of its signees with the exception of Fauske, Sime, Young, and Ebel.

It looks like it might be a battle between us and tennessee.

What makes you say that?

That’s not bad in a vacuum but SEC pitching would demolish him

I agree with you. Btw, do you have similar concerns about Brayden Simpson?
Lachenmeyer's stats are impressive -- 13 k/9, 4 bb/9, 2.37 ERA

Also, in a small sample size against NCAA tournament teams this year (11 ip), he had a 3.4 ERA with a 4/1 k/bb ratio. Very solid addition.
I disagree - I wanted Higgins a bit more. He has higher strikeout numbers, lower walk totals, a much lower ERA (1.87 vs. 4.89) and WHIP (0.90 vs. 1.31) on the season, and did great against the SEC this year (0 ER in 5.1 innings), while Carson Bailey did pretty poorly against the Big12 (6.32 ERA). Production should matter more than draft stock and the radar gun.
Landon Mack looks very good. Great stuff, and only 1.9 bb / 9.

Once you realize you've already died, it makes every minor inconvenience seem completely irrelevant and every beautiful moment all the more magical.

How can you feel good about making it out of a regional? Jay will likely start Anderson against the #4 seed, which means we’ll have to rely on Johnny Wholestaff to win game 3 against the #2 seed.
Slight lineup changes don't have such massive impacts...it moreso has to do with an increase in the quality of competition. Our early season stats were inflated as a result of playing Missouri and Mississippi State.
What criteria should be used to determine whether someone should start games, and how does that criteria justify Shores starting in the place of Cowan?

Cowan can throw multiple pitches for strikes; doesn't walk batters; has the durability to pitch past the fifth inning; has the skillset to go through an opponent's lineup multiple times; and has the effectiveness to neutralize an opponent's best pitcher. Shores does none of that. So why shouldn't Cowan start?

This is the second year in a row that LSU will have under-utilized its best pitcher. It's a shame.
Pearson should switch places with Frey. Pearson to the dugout. Frey to the lineup.
It’s been frustrating to see TN pick up a guy like Liam Doyle and transform him into one of the best pitchers in the country and Auburn take Sam Dutton and turn him into an effective weekend starter…meanwhile, what has LSU done? We signed one of the best high school pitchers in the country, who scouts say had one of the best curve balls in the entire draft, and he gets to campus and can’t find the plate with it. We signed multiple high level arms out of the portal, and there’s just been no development at all.
It's not a coaching issue. It's a talent issue. Yeskie just doesn't have good pitchers to work with. #1 portal class of pitchers. Top ranked high school pitcher in back to back years. He's doing the best he can with limited talent.

What's the common denominator across both seasons? Rhymes with pesky.
Ashton Larson led LSU's entire team in OBP during SEC play. He would start on every single team in the country.
It's ironic that Adesanya literally became the dude in the bar talking about how he once beat Pereira:

Couple questions:

1) Are there any OF candidates who could move to 2B like Dugas did last year? Our OF is crowded, and we have no proven middle infielders.

2) Players can't enter the portal in the fall, but they can enroll in JUCO, correct?
