If years ago, after Skip left …. Someone said “there will come a time in the near future where LSU wins the national championship 2 out of 3 years but the year after the 2nd natty, they stink it up, and look terrible”…. You’d take that all day, and every day there after…

Absolutely. Doesn’t make this season excusable though. But I think everyone would take that. We went a period of 22 years with exactly one championship.

I think if this fanbase were being honest with itself, itd also admit skip wouldnt win more than 2 titles in 4 years in this current state of college athletics, and likely less

I think most ppl would be fine with that. However, you also made the assumption that they will only suck for one year, and based on what we saw this year, that assumption is not guaranteed unless Jay takes the learnings from this year and make some drastic changes across the entire organization for next season. That’s why it’s okay for fans to express concern and criticism based on the production this year.

I think explainable is a better word.

With the new era of NIL and open transfer rules, this will become more of the norm across all college sports.

I’m more aggravated at the baseball calendar and the situation that basically handicaps teams that play deep into the postseason more than anything. The staff obviously misplayed the situation but it seems ridiculous in the portal era to have it open up while teams are potentially hundreds of miles away playing in a super regional or in Omaha playing for a national title.

I expect LSU Fighting Tiger Baseball to make a regional EVERY year.

You can’t make that comparison without also saying the same about Augi Garrido and Dedeux as well in their times. It doesn’t translate time. Who knows.
FWIW- I still support CJJ but also agree this season was embarrassing. He will right the ship.

Baseball wouldn’t be what is today with out skip. So anything saying he wouldn’t do something in the sport today is just dumb

That’s just idiotic lol never have a losing conference record? You’re setting yourself up for major disappointment baseball may not be your sport. We and every other major program in the SEC will have a losing conference record plenty. Most will have one in the very near future.

You wouldn’t win 10 games coaching the team

Maybe you should contact Verge and let him know how much better you can do, put your name out there.

Team was already bad, but losing Moore was really crushing. Team really lacked consistent pitching depth. He seemed to be the most consistent pitcher on the team. I hope he returns and they still add another elite arm from the Portal.

I think the season is disappointing, but some of the reactions around here are wild to me. LSU should bounce back next season.

These comments are so dumb and pointless. Bear Bryant wouldn't have the same success today either and Walter Payton wouldn't get all those rushing yards. And it goes both ways: Patrick Mahomes wouldn't throw for all these yards under old football rules. Times change and you can only compare a guy against his peers, not decendants.

This is true for all things, not just sports.

Sure, but it’s that exact sentiment that makes it all the more confusing. How can this be the shittiest team in recent memory after just winning 2/3 championships. Lol

I think what most LSU baseball fans are frustrated with is how bad they are this year. The drop-off is crazy this season. Granted the SEC is ridiculously strong this year, but being at the bottom is something us LSU fans can't comprehend.

If we were floating mid pack SEC, I think people would be a lot more understanding but being as low as we are and not making any tournaments is something we are not used to.
