I didn’t view him as that level of player.

“Paid like $300,000.” That means Chadwell has no fricking clue what he got, just that it was more than Liberty could match. Much more likely that it’s closer to $100K, if even 6 figures.

he's good, but not 300k good. liberty coach is full of shite

the car/apartment is believable and may some cash but certainly not what he's speculating. sounds like a bitter bitch his star WR chose a better life for himself.

I’m kind of upset by this. 300k could have been better utilized for a DB or a DL

but they aren't technically paying them so a coach really shouldn't have that power.

small sample size so far.......but its why a few HC's in CFB have taken some position coaches in NFL....to get out of the nightmare its becoming. and nick saban didn't just forget how to coach.

Obviously national brands can afford to not get a ROI on their NIL deals, but I am curious how much more business some of these local brands are making by signing athletes to NIL deals... especially if the guy out of high school doesn't pan out.

These first couple years have been wild, wild west for sure, but I think you will see things stabilize a bit where the local appliance company in Austin won't be shelling out significant bucks so a high school OL can be 2nd on the depth chart at UT.

I'm not saying Nick Saban isn't a good coach, he's the most meticulous to ever do it. With that said, let's not act like Alabama wasn't partaking in shadow NIL before NIL.

my take, which wasn't expressed in my previous post, lies more along the lines of NIL AND the free transfer, and as a previous poster said may destroy the game.....to which you said overaction. true, the game will likely never go anywhere, but we don't know that, and all change isn't always good change. saban has been cheating since day 1, but, he controlled the narrative at his school. now that kids can get paid and bolt freely, it aint helping the game.

Wait you think you know more about what CJ was paid than the coach who was trying to find the money to keep him?

God Damnit if someone wants to go earn some money and position themself to go pro while doing so.

No one knows his name if he puts up 1K at liberty. He’s a legit NFL prospect if he does so at LSU. Give me a break cry baby bitch

There's an easy fix. Go back to the the sit out when you transfer rule. The only free transfer should be going from Power 5 to lower school or if coach leaves.

I don't think that is coming back. But if it did, I always think there should be an exception for moving up or down. There are a lot of P5 freshmen who don't belong. Penalizing them for going down benefits no one. Similarly, there are a lot of overlooked kids that sign FCS or G5 and prove they should have been P5. Every P5 has an equal opportunity to lure them, so they shouldn't be punished.

The issue (if you think there is one) is tampering within the P5, especially in conference.

That's on the NCAA for trying to take money from a football player who was selling t-shirts from his dorm to make some money as his way of getting a part-time job.

This is all on the NCAA, all they had to do was let players make money off of their name by letting them get a cut of video game money and jersey sales. Instead, they thought they had the biggest dick in the world and dared the players to sue... which they did, and it was in court that the NCAA realized they had no dick at all.

NIL is only evil when the player chooses to go somewhere other than LSU. Come on you know that

Yes. I'll dumb it all down for you.. Jamarcus Russell, from Alabama, comes to LSU = GOOD... Matt Flynn, From TX, comes to LSU... Also = GOOD. Warrick Dunn, from LA, goes to FSU = BAD. Landon Collins, from LA, goes to Bama = BAD.

NIL doesn't really affect the situation.

To recap.. Things that are good for LSU.. I like. Things that are bad for LSU... Not so much.

Any questions?
