Daniels transferred in from LU last month, thought this was interesting and shows we can pay when we need to.

That's why you are Liberty, and we are LSU.

There will surely be people in here who will come in and expound on the evils of NIL, but what's wrong with paying someone for a service?

Perhaps that "Flame" should've been brighter?

Must mean that Kelly didn’t want to pony up money for an average corner that may or may not work out. Seems to me he likes what’s on the roster.

In the spring he will give out some cash for a DT and a depth piece at RB.

NIL is only evil when the player chooses to go somewhere other than LSU. Come on you know that

There's an easy fix. Go back to the the sit out when you transfer rule. The only free transfer should be going from Power 5 to lower school or if coach leaves.

Jamey acting like Hugh didn’t pay CJ to go to Liberty in the first place

This seems like a non-story. He was in the portal & LSU paid him… much different when Lincoln Riley paid the biletnikoff winner to enter the portal & leave Pittsburgh

What if their position coach or the assistant coach that sold them to come to the school leaves?

Would be shocked if that’s true
Sounds embellished to me and sour grapes
If that’s the case then some of our recruits and current players would have been out the door

Liberty could pay with that megachurch money they have.

I'm sure the SEC exposure and the arse whipping Liberty got from Oregon helped him with his decision too.

What you do is use that to recruit a bunch of HS WRs telling them they could be next.

300K is chump change compared to what's being thrown around other places. If Liberty couldn't match that, then CJ Daniels isn't the last player they're going to lose.

Falwell's money only goes so far, I guess.

Chalk up the rule change to one of the MANY unnecessary overreactions of 2020. Absent some sort of agreement by a "players union" (that obviously doesn't exist), that rule is not returning. In fact, as you know, the "one free transfer" rule has already essentially been litigated out of existence.

NIL is not going to change. And unless there is ever some sort of CBA, neither will the transfer rules. For the foreseeable future college "free agency" is here to stay. Coaches can either bitch about it or accept it and proceed accordingly (if they don't just leave for the NFL)

Got no issue with it. Just think it should be regulated a little bit before it destroys the game.

Coaches should be able to yank NIL mid season if a player catches a big head
transferring for anything but hardships should cost a year of eligibility, etc.

Overreaction. The game isn't going anywhere.

I mean I understand that the schools are pulling the strings, but they aren't technically paying them so a coach really shouldn't have that power.
