There is no more overrated measurable in football than QB height. None.

re: Let go of #5

Y’all need to let it go. They are already walking it back. Yeah he shouldn’t let his psycho mom speak for him but she’s his mom. LSU fans should be better than this.

My point is they/he is 100% wrong but the overreacting by fans is off the charts.
5 is a more popular number than 9 just as a general proposition.
Folks need to calm down. This was his Mom’s doing. She’s a narcissistic blowhard (ask Kayshon). Jayden is already walking it all back. He realizes it was an overreaction by his Mom. Things will be smoothed over and all will be forgiven (except by some of the hotheads on this board!)

That’s overboard. Do you really think any fans now HATE Daniels? Look, I think Daniels should not have done what he did but I still love what he did for LSU. Certainly don’t hate him. He made a mistake. Geez.

Not a good look for Pickett to make a decision on where to play over a number.
Did Lane make this decision to give Pickett #5 and not at least discuss it with Daniels? To me that’s the only thing disrespectful done to Daniels if so. If Daniels refused to bless the decision you still proceed an honor the commitment. But I do think the right thing to do is give your former Heisman winning QB a heads up that you are doing it. Honestly that is the only sympathy I have for Daniels if that was not done.

re: Leavitt vs Burrow

I agree with everyone that it’s silly to compare the two. But I also take issue with those shitting on Sam citing stats. At this time in the summer of 2019, Joe Burrow was coming off of a 2018 season in which he completed 57.8% of his passes for 16 TDs in 13 games. Then he joined an offensive system that suited his skill set perfectly and had the greatest season of all time.

I don’t expect Sam to come close to Joe. But I do think that Sam fits Kiffin’s system perfectly. And I think Kiffin and Weiss are masters at playing to their personnel’s strength. So I will be very surprised if Leavitt does not have his best ever season as a college QB this fall.
What will get more downvotes:

1. This post

2. The post wanting to do away with the #7 tradition

For my part, I gave each a downvote.
Isn’t this about the roster as a whole? LSU’s roster was pretty bad going into portal season while Ole Miss was solid. We had better additions but I don’t think it’s nuts to say their base roster + additions is better than ours. I disagree with that but it’s not some hot take.

Exactly, the conference will NOT boot TT. The conference MAY get together and rule that sorsby cant play, but I'm sure that would end in a lot of lawsuits flying around

It will be exactly the same as the ncaa. He will get a preliminary injunction against the Big 12 enforcing its rules, with a trial date in February 2027 so the conference will either have to violate a court order (risky jail for the commissioner) or looking as toothless as the ncaa. This is law fare at its finest.
Whether it’s first every year or not (or merely top 5) Kiffin’s offense starts with the running game. Last year they rushed for 4.6 ypc and 39 TDs as a team. That’s a full yard extra per carry and neither 4x TDs then what our pathetic squad did last year. Get excited.

He was PROJECTED preseason. He was never a top 10 pick last year. The projections assumed he would take a step up from 2024. But the combo of a spinal cyst and a porous OL had the opposite effect and he will now be selling insurance.

When did Nuss have a chance to go first round?

re: Bauer sharp got picked before nuss

In fairness to Nuss and Perkins, whoever runs NFL.com had Sharp as the worst LSU draft eligible player. Lower than Weeks.

Perkins lost millions by going to the draft. Would have made way more at LSU.

I wish the Bucs were a stock. I’d short the hell out of them. Todd Bowles has to be scratching his head at what his GM is doing here.

No kidding. The kid is more likely to be a bust then even make the NFL.
