The NCAA and their incompetence is the reason we are in this mess
They aren’t fixing a damn thing
It will only get worse until the SEC and BIG break away from the NCAA and form their own governing body with firm rules and run similar to the NFL

They can’t fix it. That’s what y’all don’t understand. They can make whatever rule they want. It won’t hold up in court. It’s not even incompetence. The vail is off. The courts ripped it off.
NCAA says “you can only transfer once” or “you have to sit out after so may transfers” or whatever and the courts will say “they aren’t employees, there is no collective bargaining, you can’t tell them they aren’t allowed to make money in the open market that’s available to them.”
I actually see it getting wilder. Given that the schools don’t relent to them being employees and coming up with a CBA that dictates all this, you will see an end to “eligibility”. Why shouldn’t a guy be able to play CFB for 10 years and make NIL money associated with it as long as he is enrolled at the school? He has to be done making money available to him for a skill just because he’s not good enough to do so in the NFL? Courts will say no if pressed.

They have no power to fix this. They tried to fight this crap. The only smart thing they did. They knew it would be bad and they were right.

I assume you have been living under a rock. The NCAA has been sitting this out for the past 10 years and, more importantly, ever since the court decided that players were entitled to payment for their NIL.
The leaders, including university presidents, had an ignore it and it will go away. They were more buried deep in the voluminous pages of the enforcement manual, directing that players couldn't be treated to a hamburger meal at the local burger doodle.
In summary the NCAA has been willfully negligent, petty and inept in all things regarding student athletes.

The thought of the NCAA fixing anything

Barring Congress giving the NCAA and colleges some kind of antitrust exemption, nothing will happen. The NCAA is powerless
Antitrust was the NIL suit. Pavia’s suit was based on the Sherman Act. Ultimately, my bet is on all this going under Labor laws. The NLRB has already filed a complaint against the NCAA participating schools to have athletes declared employees. Heaven help us….

Schools need to accept players as employees and then you can have a CBA that established rules.

Paying players should have NEVER started. Possibly paying players a monthly stipend like grad students would have been sufficient. Its college. Its a game.

The NCAA is a bunch of fricking idiots they not fixing shite they have totally allowed college football to be ruined.

We have found out that the NCAA can do nothing and has no authority. That’s about it.

My heart/interest left college football 2nd year of NIL. And I am pro pay players.
My emotional attachment to LSU football, and college football in general, is far, far less than it was a few years ago. The excitement I felt waking up on Saturday morning is long gone.
Very sad to see a great sport so quickly change, and not for the better.

programs have been complaining about how insane NIL, portal, cfb schedule have been since this started. NCAA has sat on their arse and not done shite.
This entire frickup is a result of lawmakers and courts stripping the NCAA of its authority to enforce rules and guidelines on the people and institutions who voluntarily chose to be a member of it.

The NCAA couldn't put shaped blocks through the right holes much less fix this. Everything they've tried has made it worse
